The only one I would use is the connection bennefit, all the other options are more of a nice to have thing. (Maybe they should make a light version )There's more in Roon besides the mentioned topics
You have PEQ for sound adoptions for specific headphones which is even working on top of MQA, Upsampling, DSD conversion and volume matching, song texts even for Qobuz streaming and interface to HQPLAYER service which is arguably the most sophisticated but best quality upsampler and converter for PCM/DSD on the fly.
But yep, it's expensive

Roon also support Linux...and considering that tidal doesn't have a desktop app for linux...and browser doest support hi res...not to mention is not bit perfect....its something....
I just don't see why tidal web browser doesn't support tidal connect though...
Also offers room treatments and zones and stuff.....but noooo way with that price....
even their buy option....last time I checked was like 600-700.....I mean....it's just software....nice one but still....

I always found the fact that you aren't bound by the Number of streams from a particular service when using Roon to be a benefit.
As with all things of this nature, it depends on perspective and your use case, Roon in particular now Roon ARC for Mobile always seems to step the game up when it comes to improvements in its interface and function.
But again all subjective and personal.
Cheers!!

Am a long time (relatively) user of Roon and I love it! It is certainly a quality of life product and not essential but I love it and find it indispensable for my use case! Love how I can steam to my whole home or specific rooms by creating groups within the Roon app. Again, not essential but a lovely feature!
Zen Stream works great too as an endpoint!

Looks like the iFi setup mobile app has never been updated for latest iOS and keeps crashing, and the web setup remains wonky. Surprised how iFi hasn't been able to solve this one problem ever since they launched the device.
I just changed my power supply to iFi iPowerX 15V and haven't been able to setup my Zen Stream ever since. Power light is red and despite going through setup several times, it just wont connect.
Can anyone suggest what can I do to make this work?

Did you try to factory reset it or use the original power supply?Looks like the iFi setup mobile app has never been updated for latest iOS and keeps crashing, and the web setup remains wonky. Surprised how iFi hasn't been able to solve this one problem ever since they launched the device.

Power supply is not an issue, I did switch back and forth. I eventually had to reset the device that helped in establishing a connection, but now I am unable to update the firmware. Both Android and iOS apps are outdated and the web interface just keeps checking for updates foreverDid you try to factory reset it or use the original power supply?
Can try the the ethernet wired set up/perform up date and then move it back to its position.

However, Now I am stuck on firmware update, it keeps 'checking for update' and nothing moves
I am also a confused with the behaviour, ifi.local only works on the wifi network created by iFi Streamer but it doesn't have internet.. So how does one update firmware when connected to the primary Wi-Fi network, as then the ifi.local wont open ?

Still the same. Raised a ticket with iFi Support. I so wish they fix the bugs with their software. Zen Stream is such a fantastic device, but the connectivity issues are seriously a pain to deal with. even the mobile app hasn't been updated in ages to support latest Android/iOS versionsUPDATE - Did a device reset and was able to perform wireless setup.

The damn thing won't even let me update the firmware, since I had to reset the device.
@iFi audio - Any idea how to go around this please ?
