Hi everyone!
Does using and leaving a USB drive on back of iFi Zen affect streaming quality? I only use it sometimes and I don't want to plug and remove every time I use it.

Not as far as I am aware, and of course it shouldn't.
I am sure other owners may chime in, but I at times have had a drive connected to the back of mine and never noticed any difference.

the only difference that it makes is that it keeps scanning the usb disk and putting some effort on the zen stream to do it
i don't think it can make an audible difference....after all zenstream is designed to read files from an external usb drive....

Can I update the Zen Stream firmware while its in roon only mode, or do I have to move it back to all modes?

Hi, Thanks for the question,
You must use AIO mode for updates, as all other modes disable the use of the Stream-iFi app or ifi.local

Slight detour here.
I am looking at connecting my ZS with a Singxer and then a Denafrips Pontus or Venus. Are you happy with how the ZS interfaces with the Singxer and Denafrips? Obviously how is the sound?
