Based on what I have been reading, I am getting the same impression over all. But in this case, won't you see it as on the expensive side, if used soley as a DAC? I mean you can get fully balanced (not S-balanced) well reviewed MQA DACs for much less. Or you can get other combos for the cost of NEO + ZEN CAN.
hmm I prefer the zen can + neo idsd combo to lets say Chord Hugo 2 and the price difference is massive so I don't see this on expensive side even if I will use it solely for DAC. What other combos can you name for much less that can stand on the same boat or beat the Neo + Zen Can and can you site those well reviewed MQA DAC's that are cheaper? :)

Well as far as combo goes MATRIX MINI-I 3 PRO MQA Balanced comes to mind for instance. And this has 2 more features, over the NEO.

As for just MQA DAC, there are really a lot, and the list keep growing every month.: Gustard X16, Topping D90 MQA, SMSL SU 9 MQA,
etc.

Hopefully the store where I buy gears will carry those dac later so I can compare. But for now, I can only comment on the gears that I have heard and tried.

Any more info on the tour schedule? Doubting I made the list being a newb, but I’m curious.

Had a few last minute sign ups so we'll update everyone tomorrow!

Awesome! I have a short list going for possible options to replace my SSL2 and the Neo is in the top three. I love the concept of an all in one especially with good BT support.

Hi guys, I just want to ask if is it ok to leave the screen of the neo open all the time or is it better to auto turn off it? :)

I leave my NEO screen to auto turn off.

OLED being a self-emissive display is prone to burn in, if left on continously for long periods.

Being honest, I think it was not a good decision for iFi to include an OLED although iFi certainly aren't the only company who follows this trend recently.

IMHO, I don't think people care about how dark the screen is of something that is only used for displaying mainly numerical info. It's not a high end UHD HDR tv or some top of the line smartphone displaying high quality images and video/film content lol

This might not be of much interest to many but I just wanted to share a quick observation.

My iFi Neo doesn't appear to be affected by temperature change affecting performance.

Long story short(ish)....I noticed with my Fiio K5 Pro amp/DAC, it would take around 20-30 mins for "optimal" performance and this was most evidenced by the bass sounding considerably lighter/leaner when first switched on.

With the NEO, I turn it on and everything sounds as it bloody should, immediately....which is nice.

Obviously this is subjective testing but was something that really stood out for me.

Thanks for letting us all know. Some folks in here surely will find this info useful :)

Very exciting! Can't wait to compare it against some new gear I got in to review!

Oh hey, fellow Coloradan! Nice to see there will be at least two Neo's at a time in Colorado while you have it. Looking forward to seeing your review!

Very excited to put this Dac through its paces. Going to use it both with Headphone and speaker systems, tube and Solid State for both.

We're looking forward to hearing what you think! Those comparisons will help everyone here.
