The Singularity Oni also comes with a compatible amp.
The technology should not be complicated nor expensive to implement. It's not new amp technology, it just needs around 10 volts of bias. Similar to phantom power on a microphone.
I've also heard through the grape vine that some other manufacturers are currently working on xmems amps.
Spoke to someone at Singularity recently and an amplifier will not come at the current price point so the Diablo-X is the only option for those purchasing the ONI. However, In the future, energizers will be sold separately at a multitude of price points depending on specs and cable type.

My understanding is that when they initially launched they did bundle with a protype energizer but are in the process of developing their own energizer addressing some items/complexities that came up with the initial batch. Currently, they are selling with a 4.4mm balanced cable that can be plugged into the Diablo-X. I suggest if you are considering puchasing and have any further questions to reach out directly to Singularity. Cannot say enough good things about their customer service based on my multiple communications.

Ive also been in contact with the Singularity folks. Truly amazing customer service and communication. Really setting the bar. They are still working on their amplifier dongle, but it will defiinitely be shipping with Oni once completed.
This xmems tech is also in the little ifi go Blu bluetooth dac/amp. I have one & I love the device for watching films late qt night when my partner is asleep... honestly I have absolutely no idea what it does in that device. Any ideas?
I do love ifi; I have the above, the Hip Dac 2 & the Zen Dac 2 is on the way as a stop gap until I can afford something a bit more serious for my HD800 (and everything else) - this may well be the one, although there will likely be a new iteration by then.

That would be amazing, but I don't think that's the case. The go blu has xbass and xspace which are tuning settings. The xmems tech is an aditional circuit which adds bias voltage required to power an xmems driver.

The drivers are alreaady in mass production and are very cheap. These IEMs should cost comfortably less than $200, even as the first to market. Caveat emptor.

My bad, you're absolutely correct. I knew it was xsomething
I'm a bit of a sucker for ifi products. The aesthetic is often so good (and more importantly, the build/sound absolutely delivers) ... I have the Hip Dac 2 & the aforementioned Go Blu, which is more than anything for films & gaming on my TV late night. I also have the Zen Dac 2 on the way which is for the HD 800 senns I just acquired - obviously not the greatest for them, but good enough for my current budget. I'm getting married in December so I kinda need to wait on any more significant purchases... after that I'm going to get something more substantial and I am leaning towards one of the Diablo models.
Is this xmems tech only truly beneficial for specific headphones? Am I better off with the regular Diablo?

Yup. The xmems function is specifically for iems using xmems drivers. No other benefit. But xmems driver sound like a sennheiser he1 that you can take on a walk. So worth checking out.
I asked this question back when we had a sort of "Product Rundown" and was told it does.
Please keep in mind I am not certain of this as I do not have one to test, and with things like this, I feel it best to wait for someone to confirm it that has one in hand.
