iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

I also started experiencing and over the last week it's gotten worse. Same symptoms, left piece will cut out periodically and on occasion both will go out
After getting my distortion issue sorted by being sent new connectors I have now encountered a new problem that I have experienced both yesterday and today, similar to the issues reported by two posters above. The pods go a bit mad beeping for several seconds and either lose connection, or the volume goes down to zero or up to max. The most recent time this happened I perhaps got 1 min of listening, followed by lost connection and/or volume low or max and this repeated 4 or 5 times in under 10 mins.
After being trouble free with the pods from launch date up till end of year it has pretty much been daily problems of differing kinds ever since.
I can see me going old school wired very soon.

Hey, question to those who's had some experience with connecting Go Pods to LHDC One - how did you achieve consistency in pairing across different sources (aindroid, win)? For me it's been kind of a hit and miss - sometimes it connects with no issues, sometimes have to try several times, switch into pairing mode etc.
Greetings to you in Estonia! I too had some issues. I have tried on a PC and on my Galaxy s20+ phone. The initial pairing on the PC took a few tries, but once it connected there were no issues and I could reconnect easily. However, with the s20+, the LHDC One does not pass any audio, although I can pair with it.

My opinion on the touch controls is that they aren't the best user experience. I understand why they were employed because of no moving parts and the space savings (and they look cool), however, such a small device with touch controls right next to the skin of my ear doesn't seem the best choice.

Therefore, I am curious if some of the issues people are having are due to the touch controls being engaged at "bad" times. It is almost impossible for me to put them in my ears without engaging one of the buttons. I've gotten to the point that when I use the Go Pods with my phone, I use the Gaia app to disable the controls before I put them on.

Another thing that seems to not have been thought out: Some people might try to pair with the Go Pods in their ears. In that case it would be nice if the voice in my ear said "pairing mode" or something like that, because as it is now I have to take them off and check the lights to make sure I'm in pairing mode. The only verbal indicator I get is when it actually pairs.

Totally agree

I encourage anyone who has suggestions or issues to please take a moment to report them to our Support Team.

As I have said in the past this is the fastest way to affect change, and I am glad to pass along any of these issues or help where I can. I believe our support techs do the best they can to solve all issues, but with the thousands of devices and different use cases out there, it is virtually impossible to plan for any one individual circumstance.

However, if there are 30 folks reporting an issue with controls or anything else for that matter it will get noticed quicker by reporting it.

That is not to say we cannot discuss these things here, but when we have and others have agreed I encourage all of those folks to take a moment and report it, together your voices will be heard.

Thanks for taking the moment to read this!!

Cheers!!

Sure thing, but if we don't discuss it here first you don't find out others have the same problem. I will get around to raising yet another ticket, but to be honest at the minute I'm pretty much Go Pod-ed out with what seems to be a problem every time I use them going back nearly 3 months.

I can understand, I was only trying to point out through my experiences it is best to do both, it is always nice to find an answer here with our friends rather than having to do a ticket.

But companies relying on data more and more, the best way to get any issue raised to a higher level is by doing the latter. I have had the good fortune of not having many issues, but my use case may be a quarter of what everyone here is doing with them. Squeaky wheel so to speak!

In no way did I intend to mean don't look for answers here, I hope it wasn't taken that way and was not my intention:beerchug:

So, like 2 weeks ago, I've opened a ticket about an intermittent issue I was facing with my GO Pod:
No Music playback after a WhatsApp call or even a phone call

Ticket, opened on March 1, 2024.

The issue, as it seems, was an App called Sound Assistant (available via the Galaxy Store) which I've installed a couple of months back, after reading a post from @pervysage to help manage the volume steps with more granularity. After disabling, not uninstalling, this App and testing this for 2 days now, I've not encountered this issue again. I've received numerous WhatsApp calls and after ending the call, the playback resumes, no problems at all. I am always referring to my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

I hope my message will help others who might face the same issue.

I would like to kindly ask from all those who have opened a ticket, to report back here when they will resolve their issue, and state the issue, their device(s), the solution offered and how long has it taken to resolve the matter.

Thank you 👍🙂

Thanks for posting this, it is indeed valuable information. I will pass the word on to the tech folks.

Glad it was sorted out and a good find!

Cheers!!

My impression is that this iteration of the product is as good as it's going to get. I would hope the next version will not have touch controls, but I won't buy it. I went for the Go Pods, but if I could go back, I would not have purchased them.

Though the sound quality isn't quite as good, I've gone back to using the Shure TW2 90% of the time. It has none of the issues described here with the Go Pods and has many features the Go Pods would be better with.

Opening a ticket isn't going to get rid of the touch controls. The touch controls are the biggest fault in my opinion--irritating from the get-go.

I would hope devs at iFi would check this thread, but then I'm a dev myself and I'm not that keen on hearing complaints about my work. :D

If Shure releases a TW3 with LDAC and or LHDC, I will buy it.

I will certainly pass along your feelings on the Go Pods as you wrote them, your opinion on the product is valid and valuable for others to read. We at iFi know that everything we make will not work for everyone, and we are not upset when folks tell us how it can improve or what other brand works better for them it spurs us on to be better!

We are sorry that this iteration of the Go Pods has not worked out for your use case, and we will take your suggestions into our decision-making for the next iteration (if there is to be one).

You are correct "opening a ticket" will not get rid of the touch controls, but it is a good way of lodging complaints and them being tracked in a system.

Hopefully, we can do better for you next time!

Cheers!!

I think that touch pads vs buttons are a personal taste, influenced by anatomy (in this case do the ears interfere). For me, I quite like what I experience as a sleeker and more modern interface with the touch pads. And my ears don’t cause frequent problems. Does that mean they are perfect? Certainly not! But I seem to have far fewer problems than you do, and thus come to a different conclusion.

That’s the great thing about this hobby - so many choices that you are bound to find something at least close to what you are looking for!

I heard back from iFi support about my cutting out issue and it wasn't great. I bought these second hand on here and they were originally purchased from Bloom Audio back in January. I told them this and they told me to return them to Bloom Audio. Im not sure how feasible that is since I wasn't the one who originally purchased them...
