iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

I totally agree with you here.
For a high end product the volume doesn’t stay put where I set it especially when there is no level indicator either is definitely annoyed. I have to adjust based on feeling. The next day will be totally different as my music library is not normalized. Unfortunately, as of today, I haven’t received any feedback / discussion on this subject. It seems that other users are not affected by this except you and I. Anyway, I sincerely hope that this can be implemented in the next Gaiia or an official Android app. As a result, I end up using more the Fiio utws5 instead which support ldac, has stable connection, no drop out and sounds pretty close (80%), imo.
I wonder if others with Android aren't affected because they didn't disable absolute volume. This wasn't an issue for me with that enabled

This could very well be, I'm sure folks will give feedback on this when they see the posts.

Cheers!!

I was waiting to hear from a few more folks on how this works for them, and the particular phone they use.

For the most part, I use my Pods mostly with an iPhone 11 and do not experience this issue. If it is indeed a bug, or acting in the extreme volume parameters I would make an inquiry of our support folks, and let them know the Model of the Phone, Android version, and other details relevant to your situation.

I could be wrong but I have not heard a seen a ton of posts on this direct issue, so it would be best to report it.

Do you mean this in Developer settings? If so, it’s also enable in my Xperia 1V.
One other thing, when I adjust the volume on the phone using +/- button on the side, a volume bar appears. When I adjust on the pods, the media volume doesn’t appear anywhere but I do hear the volume increase / decrease. Wonder if this is the issue.

Yes, more or less I'll give an example...

I had to learn developer options was a thing...:L3000:

After getting an Android phone for purpose of helping folks here, I never knew what this was! I am also a long-time Apple user, after years of incessant updates on the Windows platform it was refreshing to use MAC OS, frankly because this is not as prevalent (firmware/OS updates) as it is on Android/Windows OS devices.

The point I am badly trying to make is the GO Pods' initial intention was an audiophile-sounding experience without all the (Techy aspects) like the full-fledged apps of other similar devices. GO Pods was more of a No Fuss "Put em' on and Go" type product, even the app's original intention was firmware updates, but has become more.

So what is common knowledge to some may not be to others, but we all learn, that's why we spend our time here!

Cheers!!

Personally, I prefer simplistic as well as I don’t need ANC, equalization, 3D, ambiance etc. So understood for the bell and whistle app are not necessary but at the bare minimum I expect the volume to stay where it was set and an indicator level should be shown when I adjust the volume.
Anyway, my volume issue doesn’t seem to be related to the absolute volume since it is enable. Any other idea that could help me resolve my problem would be appreciated.

I think it would be best to log a ticket with our support folks to address the issue, if you haven't done so already...

They would be best suited to deal with this.

I’m curious which versions of LHDC are supported with Go Pods? V3, V4, etc

The LHDC One supports 3, 4, and 5
Here is the answer I received regarding your "version" question

LHDC-560k (stereo) 900k (mono). Currently, V3/V4 is supported

Hope this helps.

Cheers!!

I heard back from support and they told me don't disable absolute volume as the go pods override the phone volume so you are using the pods analog volume when using this feature.

So @ecouteurifi when you enable absolute volume the last volume doesn't save? It does for me

Hello, if I may ask, has iFi Audio Support recommended you to not turn off "Disable Absolute Volume"?

So, in the screenshot I am showing how I have it set at the moment on my Samsung S23 Ultra. It is disabled. Should I enable that setting, is that what they recommended you for optimal use of the GO Pod?

Thanks for your feedback.
Correct, my absolute volume is enable but the last volume never saves since I bought it. Looks like, will have to open a ticket with ifi.

Sorry, Its confusing because that setting is a bit backwards, I keep getting turned around on it. iFi wants you to leave absolute voume on which means turning off the "disable absolute volume" setting" in developer options. @Nick24JJ from the screenshot yours is set correctly. @ecouteurifi iFi recommends switching the developer option off. In your screenshot you have it on, Im not if you tried it off yet.

I for one prefer to adjust either individually, but to each his/her own.
