iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

Anyone else have this issue...

I lift weights (sort of, I'm old and do my best. I put these on and listen to mixed music I've made (think of it as an album and it's entirely gapless). Anyway, about 30 minutes or so into it music stops. I have to go to my tablet and hit play to restart (can't use touch on Go Pod). Roon, my own music, through an OnePlus Pad to Go Pod.

I kinda wonder if it's a text message that comes through and stops the music, but I can't be sure.?.

I am using my GO Pod with my 64 Audio Volür for at least 7 hours per day, in the mornings while working (from home).

A text does not stop my playback. A call will interrupt the playback for as long as the phone is ringing but when the call drops, the playback resumes.
This is my experience with my GO Pod and my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

I never pair my GO Pod with my laptop.

For mine playback will briefly pause but then quickly resume. I wonder if it is a setting in your source device? Do you have this happen with other TWS devices connected to the same source? How about connecting the Go zero to a different device - does it still happen?

And, as a PSA… I would caution folks from exposing an expensive device such as the Go Pro, or the likely very nice IEMs attached to it, to sweat. IPX-rating-whatever does not apply to sweat and skin oils…

I'm pretty happy with this combo: LHDC One -> Go Pods -> Shure se846

The only downside is "no calls"/"no voice" using LHDC One.

And all in the palm of my hand! Amazing

That's Cool!

What device and service are you using for the Tunes?

Cheers!!

I've only had it since this morning, but I've listened to Tidal on my Galaxy s20+ and Tidal on my work laptop. So far I've only connected at 24bit 48khz, but the sound is quite good and the connection has been stable.

Good to know! If you get a chance for the benefit of folks here please do a comparison of The Pods themselves vs. the "One" plus The Go Pods.

I don't have one yet, other things came up but I am of course interested if other devices can improve on my enjoyment of the Pods themselves.

Cheers!!

I purchased the LHDC One to get a Hi-Res connection from my Windows laptop (which doesn't support any Hi-Res BT codecs natively). The sound is definitely better than the laptop's built-in BT connection that used SBC codec under Windows--with not very good range. So, in general, I'm happy.

I can use LDAC natively on my Samsung s20+ with the Sony Music Gallery app installed, so I don't need the LHDC One for it.

I just tried the LHDC One on my 3rd generation iPad using a Lightning to USB-C adapter, but "no dice".

One bummer I've discovered is that apparently the Go Pods can only connect to the LHDC One at 48Khz/24Bit using LHDC codec. The Go Pods say "HWA" in a lovely British accent when they connect to the LHDC One. I was hoping the Go Pods would support 96Khz sampling frequency, but it doesn't appear to be. There is no way to control the sample rate on the LHDC One, it is controlled by the connected device according to the manual:

This is the lights combination I see on the LHDC One:

I'll keep fiddling with it.

Just want to report to potential "LHDC One" purchasers that the Go Pods can only connect at 24bit/48Khz. Hopefully, it is correctable with new Go Pods firmware. I would love to get 192, just for the ability to up sample both 44.1 and 48Khz content simultaneously with "better" math. Not that I can hear it, but my OCD affects my ability to enjoy 44.1 content when I know it's being up sampled to 48 or 96. LOL

For the GO Pod to utilise its full potential, you need to have devices with Snapdragon Sound.
For example, my GO Pod functions perfectly with LDAC 990/909 kbps with my Samsung S23 Ultra but it could only do 660/606 kbps with 2 DAPs I've recently bought and have already returned now, getting a full refund for both: the Hiby Digital M300 and the FiiO M11 Plus ESS.

Additionally, it can offer sample rates of up to 96kHz

I, too, can get LDAC 990 on the Go Pods with my Samsung Galaxy s20+ @96Khz with the Sony Music Gallery app installed. --confirmed in dev options.

In this case, I am referring to the LHDC codec coming from the "LHDC One" specifically (which supports up to 24/192).

Just trying to add some data to the thread. It's interesting that when I pair the Go Pods to the "LHDC One", the go pods say "HWA" and not "LHDC". It's not clear from the thread if any other Go Pod users have made LHDC connections--apologies if I missed one. My fear is that the Go Pod software only functions at 24/48 with LHDC (when I thought it should support 24/96).

I will ask regarding the LHDC rate for the GO Pods, as I am not sure, and post back here when I get an answer for you.

Cheers!!

What sample rate is your source using for usb output? Perhaps the dongle adapts to it as it doesn’t make much of a sense to upsample BT signal?
That could be the issue, I only have a Windows 10 laptop and an s20+ to test with. There is no software or driver in either case for the LHDC One. Interestingly, in Windows it shows up as "SBC 48" when you go to select an output device (doesn't sound promising for quality but it does sound good):

I'll pursue what changes I can make in Windows to perhaps change that. It seems to be locked at the setting from the screenshot.

For what it's worth, I've just tested LHDC on my old phone, a POCO F2 Pro. It has LHDC V3.

I can listen fine by setting the sample rate to 96 kHz, the bits per sample to 24 bits and the LHDC playback quality to Best Effort (auto bit rate). Everything else stutters on these settings.

If I will change the sample rate to 44.1 kHz, I can set it to Balanced (500/560 kbps) without stuttering.

I cannot listen to 900 kbps under any setting, it's cutting off. I think this is expected, though, since my old POCO F2 Pro does not support Snapdragon sound.
