I know this is an old thread but this problem is still there on android devices. I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI dual came model phone and it has it. I cannot get it to work with my FX Audio DAC-X6 no matter what I tried. I got my self the neutron player evaluation edition and when I switched to the "Direct USB Access" it got connected twice and that's it. As far as I understand, this problem is there because Android devices don't allow enough power to the Micro USB port (OTG mode) for the external DACS to work correctly. It is born with this problem. I tested my V.E Odyssey dongle DAC with the phone and it works and starts with many clicks and pops. but when I use the Direct USB Access mode in neutron player, it works fine, and louder too...!!! the problem is in the android and how it provides power to external dacs. it's crap!

Okay guys, I've tried on different phones and the result is this - on mediatek processor it works but on snapdragon it doesn't.

Don't know about exynos and others though.
So I play Fiio only on my htc u play with mediatek processor.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem?
I am attempting to connect an HRT microstreamer to my Galaxy S4 and I have the same problem.
Other DAC's have worked fine but not this one.
Please help.

Like I wrote before, it's about the processor. Snapdragon doesn't work but mediatek does.
