If i had the money, i would no doubt get the empys and live with them forever. i trust meze's qc
Yeah they just feel so well put together and they look amazing too. I love that they have a big soundstage and have thumpy bass which is a rarity ime. The comfort really can't be understated, they are much more comfortable than both the 800S and the Arya/HE1K.

Utopia 2022, mostly perfect with some omissions that are easy to live with, and among the TOTL offerings, sounds the closest to a pair of great box speakers in a well set up room.

For me it would probably be the HiFiMAN Susvara - for about 6 years they have been one of my all time favourite headphones.

I am trying to stay with Utopia 22, if I ever get into money problems I would probably reduce to a used mm-500 (still think it is underrated) or some Beyerdynamic with some small dac/amp combination.

Onkyo A800. Could drive it with anything and rewards you nicely with better synergy gear. Does everything right with the genres I like especially with the electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals.

Diana TC
Reasons:
  1. Expensive - can be pawned in an emergency for a decent amount if needed.
  2. Very well made - all metal with leather pads that won't wear out.
  3. Sounds great with everything - never sounds harsh and doesn't need EQ.
  4. Comfortable - most comfy headphone I own.
  5. Perfect size - won't look like a dork in public.

Hifiman HE1000 Stealth. Easy choice for me, as it's the only set I have that's on this level. The rest of my gear is good for the price, but the HEKS outperforms all of them pretty easily, and is super comfy at the same time :)
