Going out on a whim, but does anyone happen to know of any IEMs that sound as similiar to the Sennheiser Momentum wireless IEMs? I can't get enough of them, and would love a wired version!

Hi @stevodotorg !

Just to be clear, you mean these right?

If so, I just did a quick comparison of them to their wired sibling, and to me, they sound similar. I am noting the wired version being a little more bassy, but that could be down to fit. Admittedly, it was only with a couple tracks, and I'm only one person listening, but the MOMENTUM In-Ear might be the wired version you're looking for.

I hope this helps!

The Sennheiser IE300 or the IE900 should sound like the Momentum. I believe they are tuned similarly.

Yes. Similar overall tonality, especially with the supplied foam tips. I have all three.

This is a very cool tool, and now I am playing around with it. Thanks!
Do you know if there is a way to find other brands that sound similiar as well? Sort of an auto matcher? or did you just look at other sennhieser ones and manually compared?

I just recognized the shape of the Momentum’s graph as being very similar to that of the IE900 that I’ve seen before. I guess this is the tuning that Sennheiser likes to go with. Crinacle’s ranking list gives a brief description of the sound signature (the Momentum is simply described as V-shaped) but otherwise it’s trial and error if you don’t already know the graphs.

Yes, the IE 300 and IE 900 will sound tonally similar to the MTW2, especially with the MTW2's "Audiophile Tuning" DSP effect turned on, but clarity and performance will usually go to the wired versions... unless your source is lower quality than the DAC/amp built into the MTW2 (MTW2 probably sounds cleaner than an IE 300 plugged into a laptop/motherboard headphone jack). Both products have their situations where they shine!
