Oh well, rockbox doesn't support ipod touch anyways... Maybe try resetting to factory settings to try to resolve your problem. It could also be specific to the song files you have? I'd try to check if it's consistent with songs, if it isn't I'd do a factory settings wipe to the ipod, if it is specific songs that sound like that, then I'd try redownloading the songs. Well, the problem is solved when the volume is set to max and then back.

It's probably the firmware. You should do a factory wipe if the problem presists.
