Hi all...I hate IEMs, I love earbuds. I love the sound of the Monoprice 8320, I hate stuffing it into my ear canal to enjoy it though...

I want to try and transplant it's guts into an earbud casing. Does anyone have experience/pointers with an operation like this?

For starters, I am battling to find an earbud with a 14.2mm driver that matches the size of the Monoprice one so I can be assured of a simple pull-out-and-pop-in process...

The sound of an IEM relies on the seal around your ear canal and a relatively small volume of air to fill.

Using IEMs as earbuds is certain to make them sound different.

So that sound you like will not be there anymore.

Id try to find a set of earbuds or maybe clips that sound like what you want and sell the IEMs./

Bugger...I suspected this might be the case. Just tried them minus the silicon tips, and they sucked...hmmmm

Anyone know a bud hat equals the Monoprice 8320 :/
