AHAHAHA! Those who hoard cats. Anyway, i find that my obsession, as you call it eventually ended with me selling off all my top-tiers and settling for 1-2 IEMs that i REALLY like.

This is what I want to do get an LCD-2.  Hell I could sell my mid tier full size and have about half to get a used one..ugh..I need to stop reading this site..

I thought I did, (same problem with full sized cans) then I got my TF10 (remolded) and now I am happy.  I also went through about 6-8 headphones till I settled with the LCD-2. Although I want to get another IEM, but it's the JH3A and it's so expensive that I really don't see it happening anytime soon..

Love my LCD-2, only problem is sometimes I stay up later or spend more time listening to music than I originally intended to.

My musician friends have a term for this: GAS. Stands for "gear acquisition syndrome"; they know it all too well, e.g. the guitarist who just needs to have another effects pedal, a fancier pick-up, an extra guitar.

That doesn't sound like a problem to me!

My guitarist has 27 guitars, no exageration, his wife loves it

Collecting guitars, I can understand and is on a whole different level over headphones/IME IMO.  I would believe that most folks who collects guitars are also good guitar players themselves.  If I knew how to play guitar, I would much rather play it than hear it, and to hear it, I would only need one or two headphones/IEM.

I'm curious how the dual armature sounds, esp. the A151 against my CC51. I'm curious how the M3 sounds compared to my M1 and i am going to buy the FA Silver Bullets some day soon. Then i will be curious how GR-07 and Brainwavz M4 sound..............................I was also curious about budget Soundmagic IEMs, hopefully though i don't act on these urges.

Good thing the shipping has turned me away from Xears..........

And who doesn't want to know what it's like to have your ears foamed or whatever to make customs?

Then there are times i get sick of IEM altogether and say "I need to concentrate on headphones" instead of sticking icky things in my ears.

Koss KSC75 have Cocobolo Shells????? I just remembered the JVC "Marshmellows".......MUST..RESIST....URGE!!

My hearing is probably different from everyone else. Instead of catching the lyrics in a song, my ear catches the specific notes / frequency. I can never memorize any lyrics from any song (even from easy catchy songs). It's either a God given gift or a disability.

I have the same problem! Can't remember lyrics, but will memorize the notes and sounds without a problem

I know!  I thought I was being greedy by having 3!

That's insane (in a good way)! I've never imagined 27 (same) instruments in my collection.

I'm guilty, too, I suppose.

I have too many IEMs, but in my case it all started because I wanted the perfect-but-cheap IEM. I wanted certain sound characteristics, extreme comfort and isolation. Usually I get two of three, which should be more than enough but... you know...

I keep on searching, and to be sincere I shouldn't buy another IEM in my life. Instead I should test as many as possible until I find what I want/need/can-afford.

Right now I think that in terms of comfort and isolation, nothing can beat my Ety MC5 for the price. The sound is awesome, but not fun. Even though, I should stop here and now because after testing the MC5 I automatically thought "mmm, how about the RE-ZERO?".

Anyway, I've made myself a firm promise: not to buy another IEM for at least two years unless all IEMs I have get destroyed. My current collection is too much for me, I shouldn't have so many IEMs. And still, as I say in my home page, "me wants more"...

Certainly, as any other hobby, IEM can become an illness :(

Funny that you bring up the A151 and CC51. I just spent a good 1/2 hour trying to figure out which one I want to buy. I was looking for an inexpensive single balanced armature to round out my "collection", but the CC51s just sounded too good to ignore. I'm also curious how a small (6mm) driver could sound as good as the bigger ones found in the Atrios and other great dynamic IEMs.
