With some of the new custom IEMs available today, a great ordering option would be the ability to choose the desired length of cable which best would fit your needs.

If you had a choice of say a 42", 50" or 64" Cable, which would you prefer?

Personally, I would choose the 42", as I feel this would be the perfect length to reach to my waist area (where I typically clip my DAP).

Some people in contrast use their IEM's at work, where a longer (64") length may be desired...

lol, yup 42. 2bh, i prefer the extender ones, 2foot/2foot ones. they are just better for me for some reason.

The idea of this Thread was based on a recent conversation I had with a rep from Livewires...

I had asked if any consideration was given to offering a 42" Cable option. The reply was he did not think a short cable of this length would be of interest to the public.

Thus the reason for the poll, to gather an overall consensus...

i think 42" will be a bit too short. my vote goes to the 50".

My vote goes to ......... (drum roll please) ............ a cable that would extend and retract as needed - all without sacrificing sound quality.

But I picked 50" as it makes for a good compromise.

I'm not a very tall person but the longer the better. You never know when you need that extra length.

Because of the way you use IEMs I prefer to have a short cable, 46" has proven to be the perfect length.

Also remember that quality > length. The UE custom cables are great!

Having a short (42") cable would be great. There would be no more extra cable hanging around getting caught on everything. I voted 42"!

50" or 60" I am 2 meters tall, can't use a cable that is only 42". 50" seems to be the best compromise.
