Does anyone know for sure if the site http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk sells real IE8s? I saw someone say he used the "beat the price" option to get them for $227. Want to make sure it's legit before I try. Thanks.

I see some bad reviews. As an owner of both a real and a fake IE8, I can testify that it's almost impossible to tell apart until you hear it. This is a problem because if you've never heard the real IE8s, you probably won't be able to tell. In addition, I'm not sure if they're authorized dealers... =/

I strongly recommend just buying them in-store at a verified dealer. If you insist on getting online, I got my real ones from www.hifiheadphones.co.uk (they sponsor these forums), and they're pretty good at £199.99. They will ship to the US too, without the VAT. Pretty good deal. They're authorized dealers too.

Thanks for helping me out. I'm not set on ordering online I just want to get the best deal. I'll probably end up calling J&R to see how low they'll go and order from there. Thanks again!

I still urge you to avoid bargains. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is! I have the real IE8 and they are easily worth their $399 MSRP.

The fakes aren't even worth $20.

Whenever I am ready to buy a premium set of IEM's (even though most of my stuff is review samples) I either go for the premium price or buy it from a reputable dealer. Trust me, it's always easier & safe.

No worries, I'll be staying away from anyone not on sennheiser's authorized retailers list. Luckily J&R is on there.
