  In fact I contacted one of your retailers in Shanghai and they confirmed that they still don't know anything about the iDAC2 (and before I asked about the iPower with the same results)

.
No worries, I am used to those kind of answers... At most I will get in touch with the guys in HK (I still have the e-mail address of Billy somewhere).
I will keep you in touch and congratulations again.
Thanks and regards

  Dear iFi,

Please let me win the iCAN so I can replace the Lovely cube for complete "iKING" stack (iDAC2, iTube mod with 2 intel heatsinks, iCAN)

Hi,

You certainly have the funkiest looking setup so far.

We had to strain to look at what is there.

Well done!

  You made this one easier than the prior contest;

1. = 6.3mm
2. = SMC
3. = 3.5mm
4. = XLR

Hi,

Not easy trying to strike a balance as Head-Fi is super popular and so the spectrum is quite broad.

Not to worry, the next one will be a little tougher.....

Looks really cool.  Like most folks here, I'd love to know how this new addition to the BB powered ifi family sounds compared to the nano and micro iDSD DACs.  I use the nano + iPurifier at work and the micro iDSD at home with the iUSBPower, Gemini, and Mercury cables.

I have to say that if this new iDAC had been available this time last year, I almost certainly would have bought it instead of the micro!  Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to like about the micro, but the crazy USB type A input is infuriating for someone like me who uses it at home with a nice audiophile USB cable.

If it turns out that this new iDAC sounds a bit better than the micro, I may consider it.  For new buyers, there's only $20 difference in price between the micro iDSD and the iDAC2 + iPurifier, so the iDAC2 will need to be pretty amazing to complete with the feature-rich micro.  Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

This is my office setup with limit space so I have to place my rigs behind the monitor

For the iTube, it get so hot after 2-3 hours

 --> I use 2 intel CPU stock heatsink on top of it. With this mod, I can leave it ON whole day without worry about it

Hi,

The whole chassis of the iTUBE is used as heatsink. Hence it does become warm to dissipate heat.

Also, the GE5670 (laid out horizontally inside) is run very conservatively so whilst the tube itself is hot to touch, it should live a long and fruitful life!

By all means cool it if you so wish but it isnt necessary!

Cheers.
