Hey everybody...I'd like to listen to some more rock, my favorite rock bands right now are Shinedown(great LIVE if anybody wants to know), Creed, Alterbridge, Silvertide...Bands that have a kick you know?

So I was wondering if there is some bands that I should know of and try their music based on my taste.

EDIT: I'd also like to get into some different genres besides rock, if you could suggest any bands I should check out thatd be great as well.

you need a good, swift dose of Andrew WK.

start with I Get Wet:

try some fuel (something like human, Sunburn, etc) for a style similar to some of the bands you listed.

As for other genres, I don't know exactly what you're looking to get into, but I'll suggest a few departures from your normal listening line-up:

The Postal Service (electronic indie rock)
Deathcab for Cutie (emo)
Dimmu Borgir (Gothic/Black metal)
Bauhaus(Oldschool goth)
Cradle of Filth(Gothic Metal)
Pantera (Oldschool Heavy Metal)
Coheed and Cambria (Screamo/ Alt. Rock)
Miles Davis (Jazz)
Aborted (Death Metal)
Flogging Molly (Punkish Alt Rock with an irish flare)
Michael Buble' (Easy Listening)
Mudvayne (Nu metal-ish...maybe more to your taste)

I tried to cover a broad spectrum of musical genres so you can have a bunch of choices. if you're interested in any one genre, let me know, I'll give some more in depth recommendations.

Disclaimer: anything "metal" is subject to have screaming, shouting, and/or cookie monster vocals without notice.

I'm not real familiar with the bands you mention except Creed, so here are some classics with "kick":

Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory
Queensryche - Operation:Mindcrime
Rush - Moving Pictures

If you're feeling adventurous:

Opeth: Blackwater Park
Porcupine Tree: In Absentia
Pain of Salvation: Remedy Lane

Some of my favorite Prog Rock Bands (other genres to try)
Neal Morse
The Flower Kings
Transatlantic
Yes

Something COMPLETELY different:
Stereolab

Sleater-Kinney - The Woods
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Pretty Girls Make Graves - The New Romance

All great albums (especially The Woods) that I would consider "Rock". Check out pitchforkmedia.com for reviews.

i cant tell you how much i love coheed and cambria. not sure why because most people dont but give them a try. most people that dont like them dont like them because their singers voice is mainly high but he has a great range.

Others include:
Mars Volta
Postal Service
A Perfect Circle
