Hey all, new member but long time DX80 user here. Been very happy with the DX80 but had a slight accident recently. Something came adrift inside or jammed inside the SPDIF Out socket so now it's stuck in SPDIF Out mode with no output via any of the other sockets. Anyone know of any UK based iBasso repair shops? Or is the SPDIFsocket even repairable? Thanks in advance for any help.

It might be easily repairable. It depends on what's broken inside.

From what I can see inside the socket, it looks like there's a contact/switch either broken off or jammed inside the case. If I plug an optical cable into the socket I can play audio via the cable but it doesn't sit securely in the socket. I guess that means the socket may need to be replaced?

It looks that way, though we're not in 100% sure. But if a socket needs to be replaced, that's not too big of a deal.

Thanks for the input, its much appreciated and gives me a better idea about the kind of repair needed.

Hello everyone,

I’ve got a problem with beloved DX80.

Its seems that both backward and play/pause buttons are stuck pressed, as if there’s something (dust ?) stuck below. So the track played is constantly restarted.
I tried to pass something thin underneath but with only result to scratch the box…

Is someone else experienced this kind of problem ? Would it be repairable ?

It is reparable, I had the same problem, and when I pressed it hard something broke under the button. I sent it to iBasso (China) and they fixed it. Not sure about the cost, the unit was on warranty then. You may find Paul from iBasso on the forums here, his email is paul@ibasso.com. Paul was very helpful and IBasso support is is great in my experience.
