Yes, the DX300 will have up to 15 hours of play time depending upon volume, difficulty to drive and resolution.

...and WiFi and Bluetooth and MQA decoding and oversampling, digital filters. Lol.

10,0000Mah > 4000+ 2000Mah power supply. 💯

The R8 also regulated by FPGA with less ram. It will come down to programmable logic and how many logic units in the FPGA and how fast they are.

Notice how the “turbo” mode mo’ processing mo’ power needed.

But if ibasso dx300 develop a kick butt Class A amp modular & it’s great like someone said that’s a game change. Y’all have make your wishlist known because now you have the attention of ibasso.

The best sound is without eq so no eq gonna ever improve sound quality, no need to moan for that lol

EQ might be good and useful for different cases, different types of music, different mixes and of course the headphone you are using. I use a PEQ for both of my headphones, depending on the situation. D8000 Pro is a revealing HP with not so full mids and less subbass, T+A Solitaire P is a pretty warm and full sounding HP with thunderous bass, with leaner mids. With some recordings which doesn't have a proper mids mix (e.g. distant vocals, flatter instruments with smaller sound sources compared to fuller bass / drums / cymbals) might benefit from EQ with such a headphone with a large 3D sound space. So, I use it with some recordings with my desktop system. Good implemented DSP algorithms when applied in a subtle way in specific cases will definitely make it sound better.

My DAC / amp HA200 is a very neutral and transparent setup, so EQ works well. On DX300, Solitaire P would probably work well with the default (similar to AMP1 / MK2) iBasso signature better than D8000 Pro. So if you have a D8000 Pro, which is very resolving and has a slight shiny treble, you might occasionally need an EQ with the default AMP module. Or you just wait for the next AMP module.

Frankly I haven't touched my portable for months and only using my desktop system. But I will most probably get the DX300 to use with my Solitaire P for when I am not at my desk, which has become my go to HP recently, and just keep it with the default AMP - of course, hoping that the default AMP module will have a similar signature as the AMP1 MK2 etc. But I have a lot of time to wait for it to come out and hear the first impressions.

R8 pairs well with D8000 Pro but I don't like its pairing with Solitaire P. So, hoping for the default AMP module for DX300 to be the usual iBasso default AMP module.

AK4499EQ: 667mW.
CS43198S: 26mW.

Except that the R8 only uses 2x Ak4497 with less power and better specs than the CL even with 4x. Btw, hiby r6 2020 downgrades the Sabre chip to save on battery life for a chip that has 2 channel rather than 4.

Ak4499eq like the Death Star aren’t fully operational with 4 channels on most daps that use it. The only dap ive seem where it appears to be used a full blast is on the sp200.

If the SQ was down to the DAC only we would know, M15 is a good example... the only way to know for sure is to audition :)

We will know very soon!

Would agree and with the track record like the DX220, then the DX220Max, I can only expect great things from the DX300. I really like the way the amp slips out of the body from the images I have seen.

Another evolutionary step forward, that is my interest in devices like the DX300. I long ago left desktop rigs (after I had left speaker rigs when I was still in my early 20's), and more recently left attempts at climbing to the summit of portable/transportable rigs. I won't be buying this device, but I still appreciate iBasso for continuing to push forward. Even a mid-fi/mid-price guy like me gets excited about these new toys. Eventually, it will impact a device that I am more likely to buy.

I hope the DX300 has a proper touchscreen with screen wake-up on touch.

I'd be surprised if it didn't, it's a very modern DAP

Double tap to wakeup isn't on the dx220Max.

Sure, but older platform here everything is more recent starting with the SoC

One thing I liked on Max is screen flipping :)

AAA crap just give me a dap that will not hiss, be warm, best bass ever, can do streaming and local files without any hiccups, amp switching if fun, nice screen. Hey I want Jeannie with my dap purchase hahaha

With a dark, dark, dark, background as if you are listening inside a sound proof studio. Someday the perfect dap will one day be in the nearly future. Your last wish.....well that’s not happening. 1 and billion chance. Haha

Tap to wake is not really a software/platform feature, you need a separate hardware sensor installed to detect it.
