You couldn't have said it better! In my 30 years of enjoying music with my denon dcp150 and Sony D-555 and now searching for a perfect totl dap and my search is still ongoing. Nothing in today's music players sound as good as my denon dcp150. I've been pouring money on wm1z, sp2k, LPGT and every imaginable dap and still come out missing the sonic spacialness and live feeling of my old portable cd players. I guess my quest will continue for the sound of yesteryears with modern day convenience. Just go to show engineers of today have different ears than engineers of the 80's and 90's.
Modern days technologies are trying to progress and improve and change all At one time. I think it is still maturing, people may not agreed with me, but I do agree with what you said. Older flagship CD players and DAT were great! Somehow the new technologies are catching up to it rather than being superior. The liveliness, the spaciousness and the authenticity of timbres seem to be too hard to get for the new modern technologies. It would be great if we can move on and adapt ....but I guess it is easier said than done LOL

Yes modern day convenience. But i have to admit my hifiman susvara and he1kse sounds amazing. Hopefully the ibasso dx220max will sound great with my he1kse. Just move on and adapt with new technology and enjoy the music.

Hey. I hope you know, I wasn't trying to make a point, but share a laugh. I feel, these days, we could all use one.

Hasn't heard the LP6 before. Hopefully the max. Might give me a reason to buy another dap. Lol

Seems like regardless of sourcing parts they’ve settled on 999 units, hence the “that’s it” but who knows?
It is a shame because I like to take my time window shopping before I decide and with limited runs it usually means I miss the boat. Oh well, I'm pretty much broke at the moment anyway, so I will live vicariously through this thread. You guys better share some good impressions!:sweat_smile:

Have you tried the Cayin N8? For me it was the most realistic and 3D sound coming out of a DAP.
