While I'm positive the DX1000 will be the bomb, I and we for that matter, won't know how it will perform until it is released. I am positive it will sound great though on the TF10s. The thing about the Custom TF10s is that they are the best value in the Custom triple driver segment. So I don't see how you could lose out on that. I am also getting mine reshelled right now by Inearz. I of course think there are other Customs out there that will scale better but with that comes a bigger price. So with the price in mind I say go for it. Its like getting your feet wet in the Custom IEM scene and learning to swim before you drown yourself lol .

It's a demo unit, I listened to JH11, JH13 and JH16 yesterday, I've also heard UM Aero, UM Mage, UM Merlin, UM Miracle, ACS T1.
 
I recommend JH11, JH16, UM Mage and UM Miracle.

No I didn't, plus it's really expensive and 'only an amplifier' so I'm not very interested.
 
The JH11 or JH16 (I can't recall which) sounded better directly from my T51 HO than from the Pico Slim.
 
The PFE232 has a stupid iPhone jack so I had to use the Pico Slim.

What do you think of the PFE232? That phone has also peaked my interest. Just would be worried if it has treble spikes

Unless Jerry Harvey and others are feeding us total BS, its not 'only an amplifier'. With the exception of the ZO, I know of no other device which will process analog out and dramatically improve the end result - naturally, that is FWIR.

FWIR, they only sell it with the JH16?  I thought it was a specifically tuned amplifier, with optimal sound for the application.
 
JH16 is already heroin, there's no need to go looking for a purer, less diluted source.

I listened to the JH3A at RMAF using CLAS out and was not impress at all.  It is not bad but it did not strike me as something special either.  For the asking price, I am expecting something special.  I feel like a CLAS + pico Slim sounds just about the same as the JH3A.  The reason why there is so little review is because there are not that many sales and personally I don't think people are that excited about it especially after that long ordeal and final changes of design.  It is something that is very hard to audition prior to buy into and once you committed your money into the system, it is very hard to sell because it is custom made to you and you only.

One of the best universals that exist, and it has different filters (I only used the neutral filter), still... I think it's too expensive, however with Final Audio I think their prices are fine... I don't understand how I can think this.

Yeah $600.00 is quite exorbitant. Now if it was in the $300.00 range I would consider it.

Its my understanding that Jerry has revised the design since then, and you can now plug your customs into the JH3A via an adapter. For all that, I dont find any of the latest update on the Facebook page encouraging or in any way confidence building.

1. is the DAC chip at DX100 more superior than that of ALO's ? to yield better sound ?
2. a stupid question... does it connect to Macbook and how do I transfer the apple lossless file to DX100 ?
3. Price is reasonable enough to stay below $450?
 
Just check the Ibasso web site , seem like it is not launch yet .

If the price is anything like $450, I expect that you will be killed in the rush to buy this thing. 

 
Theoretically, the DAC chip is superior to the chip in your CLAS (happy to hear otherwise ...) - its a chip that is normally employed in high-end desktop DACs costing thousands of dollars.
 
Finally, you will connect the DX100 to your Macbook with a USB cable for data transfer - at this stage, iBasso are saying that it wont function as a standalone DAC from your laptop. I have no idea if the DX100 has support for Apple Lossless. Previously, I have used Foobar2K to convert my ALAC files to WAV, then converted the results from that to FLAC - its long winded, but I think most of the ALAC-FLAC conversion utilities are, at best, trialware and I hate nag screens.
