  That's not normal, after long press power button it prompts if you want to shutdown, if you press yrs then it powers off completely.  You can tell by the sound of the relay switch clicking.  Losing 30% in 10 hours souns more like it wqs on standby still powered on.  I can leave my 2 year old DX100 powered off for a week and it doesn't lose that much charge.

 
 
Agreed, however my DX100 has no discernible relay click on shutdown (or power-up for that matter).

If you have earphones in on power up or down you can hear it, huge pop.  Totally shocked me on the first time.  DX50 and DX90 you can hear the relay without earphones.

I thought that the pop sound had something to do with the charging/discharging of the capacitors, that it was an electrical signal. I haven't read anything about it being a mechanical sound nor have I heard such a noise!

You can purchase a new battery from iBasso for a fair price, and it is easy to replace it. The instructions are somewhere in the thread, or you can just mail them and they will send them to you.

Tested it again last night, turned it off at 8pm after fully charged, this morning I turned it on at around 6:30am, the battery showed 99%. I guess I didn't turn it off properly the night before after I charged it. Anyway, I'm glad to know that it's working properly. Enjoy the sound a lot, I think it's gonna fight for play time w the HM901

A relay click and the power-up pop are two different animals.  I get the pop which is only heard through headphones.  A relay click can be heard without any headphones connected...something the DX50 and DX90 have but I have not heard in the DX100.

Didn't use the Dx100 today until just now, turned it on, the battery still shows 98% That's 24hr after it's fully charged. Now I'm gonna do some stress test and sew how long the battery can last.

Am not sure if that is a statement or a question but the answer is optical cable is definitely capable of playing 24/192.

I bought a new optical cable (good one), still can't play 24/192. 24/96 no problem playing it.

Thanks to gamefreak054 & xnuthecaveman i was able to save alot of time in not returning a 64 gb micro sd card i thought was corrupted , i had no idea the dx100 would format it
 
But i still have a few un answered things happening .
 
1. Odd thing is when i shut down sometimes it reboots the device
 
2.  The other night when i turned it on it booted into safe mode , never seen this on a android device , need i be concerned ?
 
3. i have an otg adapter in the micro sd slot , with a usb to micro sd adapter . i prefer to leave it inserted even when i shut down . But very early this am i charged my dx100 fully , and left it off for the day , now tonight , i guess 12-16 hrs later the dx100 wouldnt boot , i was socked , but was suspicious the otg etc had drained the battery . So i plugged it in to charge and seen the battery was indeed drained . My question is , does leaving the otg and card inserted use/drain the battery ?
 
4. Is it harmful/safe to play unit while plugged in and charging ?

For #3, I remember that connecting a OTG cable drains the battery even if the DX100 is off.

I tried to use the OTG before but I abandoned the idea since it caused me a lot of trouble.

Try to charge the DX100 without the OTG

4) I use it while plugged a lot and haven't had any problems so far. I guess the only risk would be for the battery, but someone more kowledgeable may explain.

I removed the otg , charged dx100, after all night still at 100% , so it appears otg does drain battery .

1. I hold button down , up pops ok or cancel to shut down, i press ok and sometimes it shuts down and reboots

Interesting. Are you saying you get nothing when playing a 24/192 file? If nothing else I would think your DAC would at least down sample it to 24/96.
I've had two different optical cables connected from DX100 to my Schiit Gungnir and 24/192 worked with both. Now, since the Gungnir does not have any display or indicator that tells the sample rate of an incoming signal it could be possible that it down samples a signal when the cable is not good enough and I am just not aware of it. But I don't think that is what is happening. What equipment are you connecting to?

you cannot force the built-in DAC/decoder of the Z906 to do 24/192 if it's limited to 24/96
 
I suggest you use the line out of the DX100 and connect it to the line in of the Z906 to get full 24/192 decoding. Use that ES9018
