I'm looking to pick up a used one but have two questions: Can this take 128 GB mSD cards and can it be used whilst charging? Thanks

I tested both firmwares using my hifiman HE-560 and friend's Anax modded HD800. Conclusions below.

v1.4.2 vs. Russian:

Tonality: 1.4.2 sounds warmer with a little bloated bass. Russian sounds very clean, balanced and neutral.

Soundstage: Russian sounds far airier with better spatial cues than 1.4.2. Russian's soundstage is basically wider and deeper and thus more holographic.

Imaging: .1.4.2's imaging suffers in comparison to the Russian firmware, which sounds far more precise in terms of vocal cues and instrument placement. Probably due to the more neutral and resolving nature of the Russian firmware.

Resolution: Russian is definitely far more resolving than v1.4.2, which sounds more veiled and muddier.

Decay: Russian has cleaner and better attack and decay compared to 1.4.2.

Treble: Russian sounds airier, cleaner, more extended while 1.4.2 sounds as if the upper treble region has been rolled off prioritizing a bassier and more mids oriented sound signature.

Mids: 1.4.2 sounds a bit lusher and more forward compared to the Russian version due to the tonality. However Russian sounds cleaner and better placed due to better decay and more neutral tonality.

Bass: 1.4.2 has more bass quantity with a mid to upper bass hump. Russian seems to have better and cleaner bass and impact due to better decay and more linear presentation.

In essence, 1.4.2 is more upper bass and mids oriented, with sub-bass and upper treble regions rolled off, while Russian version is more oriented towards a reference and neutral sound.

I too am waiting for mine. I am just going to gift it to my daughter. It's just the base 64GB model. Don't think anyone's going to buy it even if i put it up for sale. Good thing i have my DX100.

Anyway back to the DX100.

There are many flavors of @DOC2008 software.
Which one did you use?
Was it R10_DX100_SOUND_EXPLOSION_V2.1.1_BY_DOC2008 or something diffrent?

Based on a series of MD5 sum comparisons between the file under the link and a collection of my DX100 update images I can tell it was the "R10_DX100_SOUND_EXPLOSION_V3_BY_DOC2008 image (MD5: 5ae6e32549b87681134d30e17b664d98)
