I have the D6 and wondering how it stacks up against standalone DAC's in the same price range.  I want to get either the HD650 or K702 along with a good tube amp and want to use the D6 as a standalone DAC, between my laptop and the tube amp.  But will it get the job done adequately?

I'm not 100% sure but I think the d7 is supposed to be better, it also does 24/192 over usb.

I meant compared to DAC's made by other companies like the DACport... also it looks like I'm only gonna use my D6 as an amp for my UM3X but is it an overkill?  I know D7's output is much lower than the D6 but is it better for IEMs?
