Hello All,
I'm a little bit new to headphone amplification.  I just picked up a used D3.  I love the sound, but I'm unsure as how to choose the right gain setting.  I suspect when I get around to A/Bing the two settings, one will sound better for each of my phones, but I find myself wondering if there is a best practice approach to using this gain switch?
 
To clarify, the amp has a switch labeled "GAIN".  The switches goes up or down, but has no other markings. 
 
Can anyone offer some insight into how I should go about pairing cans to gain settings on this amp?  Thanks!

If that's what it take's to make either phone's sound right to You, 1 pr need's the higher gain because it need's more to drive them. And that's the key to the whole puzzle.
