when? take my money!!
I’ve already partitioned funds aside for it. Slim chance I’ll skip this release as I don’t need it, but I sure as hell want it!

got the elite a while ago and sadly it isnt my thing. loved the old school ibasso sound tho, as it usually set marks in the soundstage area. yesterday got the nunchaku and i couldnt be happier again.
wonder if the d17 will be closer to the nunchaku sound or to the elite sound. was thinking about the d16 at first, as to me even the Fiio K11 R2R has an excellent holographic presentation. that nunchaku for its size comes the closest to this of any portable gear i heard. tho i have to admit, i havent heard most of the high end portable stuff. final decission will be made, by which setup gives me the largest holographic presentation with the deepest and highest soundstage

edit: who is Albaso? seems text input was by voice... btw whish it wouldnt come with a tone control

Did you ever try out D16 ?

Chord hugo TT2 can output up to 5A
Hugo 2 - 0.5A (500 ma)
I wonder how much dx340 and D16 can produce
I don’t have the exact numbers for you, with regards to those two units, but I’m still wondering why the current values are so important in your decision to possibly purchase portable, battery powered or DC powered audio electronics. Or maybe wanting to know these current values has no bearing in your purchase decisions. ??

I feel that power output at a specified impedance, along with THD, dynamic range, signal to noise ratio, maximum output voltage, or crosstalk would all be higher priorities in purchase decisions (but overall, how the unit sounds to you is highest priority)…..I can’t ever recall asking myself what amperage a portable audio device outputs/utilizes. These portable units draw so little amps, because they are battery powered or low voltage DC powered. The only time I would ever think about amperage would be on an AC circuit in my home to keep a particular outlet from tripping the circuit breaker…as in full sized loudspeaker amp installations (mono blocks, power conditioners, etc).

According to this calculator

Does the quality of a mobile source make much difference when used to feed the D16?

I bought my D16 for desktop use but have found myself using it in the evenings with a DAP as the source, particularly with my sensitive IEMs (VE10 and Solaris) as the D16 produces less hiss.

Would there be any advantage to using a better DAP than my ZX707 (ahem DX340?), or is the difference likely to be negligible since it is the D16 doing all the hard work in this scenario?
