no, sound came from iaudio is digitilzed and robotic.
sound come out from other players does not have this problem.

you seems to claim that problem comes from recording.

Ironic, as a lot of popular music is created entirely in someones bedroom off a PC.

Also how do you honestly think audio is recorded, those damn electric guitars too.

The only way to really hear non-digitized music these days is to catch an Orchestra playing some Mozart or something in a concert hall.

...point being, digitized music is pretty hard to avoid and not really unreal sounding, amplifiers.

You must have tried a really old or defective D2, cause mine has never, EVER, sounded robotic (and I came over from using iRivers and ipod players).

Coupled with a nice warm set oh headphones or through my recently aquired Cmoy, the voices sound far from robotic and pretty accurate. I do know what you mean though faichu but just dropping the 9khz EQ bar down a notch or two solved any issue I had with the voices a while back (especially with the PX100's - highs seem boosted with these 'phones).

My point was it is highly ironic, how folks associate completely the opposite of how you hear music these days as the goal.

You forgot SDHC expandability (to 32GB ?)

I am VERY inclined to pick an Kenwood-A7 too (the LO won me over the Cowon D2). I want diskless an SDHC expandability, FLAC is not mandatory for me as long as WAV is there.
