I should probably start by saying I'm a hardcore fan of the AD700, and I've used them for 12+ hours a day since 2009. They're my only source of sound. 
 
First of all, I really know nothing about hair. I've only noticed this within this year, but my headphones sit exactly where my hair is usually flat. I'm not sure if I can say with certainty that I'm going bald, but it just seems very odd that the headphones rest in these places. Well, I suppose I can only describe it with pictures.
 
Firstly, I took off the pads and cleaned them, then I put the headphones on my head without the pads and took a few pictures.

I would like to know if there's any scientific evidence of people going bald from wearing headphones. Also, what other alternatives do I have if I'm no longer able to use the AD700s? I'd really rather prefer not to go bald before 30...

From personal experience, going bald is not that bad.
Just shave off most of your hair and wear a Star Trek uniform and drink Earl Gray tea.

I did a quick search using terms about hats causing hair loss as that is a common belief.

I found this quote on an article at Livestrong.com: "Pulling Hair: When removing and replacing a hat often, some delicate hair that is already thinning or falling out could be aggravated, and pulled out. This could potentially expedite the loss of hair that is about to fall out due to balding. Not removing the hat and replacing it as often could help keep some of that hair on the head where it belongs."

I think thinning hair is from your mother's dad. So does/did your grandfather on your mother's side have any form of male pattern baldness?

He started balding in his 50's, apparently. Is that anything to go by? Also, I'm 27.
 
I still think it's the headphones. How else can one explain it? The headphones rest right where the hair's gone.
