HALO NO!!!

But I still haven't heard them yet.

I went to a friends house and had him hear them. He was pretty surpised. I asked what it was like and how it sounded, and to him it did seem to becoming from somewhere all around room. He was impressed. He was playing a simple 2.0 stereo mix fed through the box.

So far I do no that they do work, and that they do bleed some sound.

However the box is all messed up. They got the connection reversed. The front and back speaker connections sound reversed.

The device comes with two tiny boxes (each with seperate center, front and back 1/8 stereo inputs that you plug your tube headphones into.

one for listening to portable stereos, the other for a direct hook up from the speaker terminals of your 5.1 reciever. However at certain volume levels the reciever tends to shut off.

This is a function built inside the tube surround headphones.

Tonight I will be watching the Yul Anderson DVD soon.

Tommorrow you will here my response.

I think I might have found a way to salvage the acoustics of my home theater, the problem lies within the sidewalls of the room. The reflection from the speakers is bouncing of the sidewalls and missing my ears.

Some experts are right the equidistant speaker set-up is really a guideline.

There are some set-up where the speakers are too close together and others where they are far apart.

One thing to note the tricky part is hooking this up to your reciever. The wiring on the box is all screwed up. YOu have to see that it's hooked up propperly. Have with you some ear phones to monitor each channel.

Step 1: Hook up your receiver as the jacks say, than monitor each input to see that the box is hooked up to 5.1 propperly. For me I had to hook up the front L & R wires to the rear speaker terminals and the back L & R to the front speaker terminals. Then I had to even reverse the wires L and R wires because both front and rear balance were reversed.

The wording on the second box is all wrong, it will takes some time to hook it up. Now I do have it hooked up propperly

One things for sure this little box will shut off your reciever if the sound is too loud. It's a safeguard they built in.

I'll be listening to these tonight.

Be patient, Neo, the answers are coming.

Again, I have looked myself in mirror many times with this on, they look kind of new age to me. I look like someone from the future rather than a basket case. It's like a really groovy headband except it has to little transmitters that hang down off it.

Sorry I don't have pictures, but you all are going to have to trust me on this issue. Even my friend didn't really think they were all that bad, if these work, I'll try to post as many comments as I can about it's ascethical value.

Maybe in the future headband will be like headphones and even at that think of buying hat with a built in sound system, like a hat with transmitter, I saw lots of people with transmitters now days.

Yul, really has expanded on an interesting concept a headphones, that isn't a headphone.

Sorry to say, but so far this thread sounds like marketing hype- repeating what the company tells you rather than approaching it objectively.

I look forward to reviews, comparisons and photos in time to come

wow, anyone who can wear this out on the street must be very brave. Just by looking at it, I can not stop laughing at the look of it. I am very looking forward to the review. Hope this sounds decent because this thing is not cheap.

This is not marketing hype.

NO DICE.

Dolby Headphone still wins!

Sorry folks.

Well atleast I've proved one thing, DH is still the best!

Sorry to get your hopes up.

Atleast the rest of you won't have to deal with this.

However, they do present an interesting soundfield for bone conductor headphones but the experience is pretty much like the rest. There are a couple of times though when they did impress me, though, with ability to render in back sounds.

Well now the only thing that we can all rely on now is SVS.

And I hope Sennheiser has got an opportunity to listen to this technology.

Once again, there is no information about DH vs Tube Surround someone had to try it so I vollunteered. I'll probably sell to my friend who likes them otherwise, NO DICE. DH IS LIGHT YEARS AWAY. Star Wars on these wasn't has good as I hoped.

The box I hooked up to my receiver actually kept shutting off my reciever, it wasn't cutting it out due to the volume. I think the little box was malfunctioning.

The other little box with the single stereo plug worked great at full volume.

But when I tried the other, it kept shutting my receiver, it could be due 6 ohm impedance which it supports. Most audio equipment is set-up for 8 ohm.

sfxjames: Well, if you already enjoy the presentation of Dolby Headphone and provided you have no problem using a computer-based source, I'd recommend you to wait a few months and try the new headphone virtualizer on Creative's upcoming X-Fi-dsp based cards.

Greetings from Hannover!
