I recently went electrostatic and got a pair of Stax's SR-5s. To say that they produce fantastically realistic sound (with the proper source files of course; garbage in, garbage out) is an understatement. I currently have them hooked up to a SRD-6 energizer which is connected to a NuForce Icon 2 amp + DAC. I usually have to turn my volume know past 65% to get a viable volume. I'm giving my SR-5s for my father as a present and they'll be usually playing classical, Simon & Garfunkel, Eurythmics, and the like. I'm looking to get an amp that can also later have the ability to power a pair of full sized floor speakers. Any ideas?
