1.An accurate, high quality 6 inch metal ruler with 64's and 32nds increments.

2.Set of feeler gauges, preferable sizes in the range of .009 to .018.

I need those couple of thing to set-up my guitar correctly. The factory specs are in inches and we got the metric system here in EUROPE. Can somebody buy these two things above? I will pay you via paypal for those plus their shiping costs.

thanks

Have you considered CONVERTING imperial measurement into metric and then buying the equvalent metric tools locally? Surely there's similar feeler gauges available and even if not absolutely exact, being out a couple hundredths of a mm wouldn't be a problem. It would be quicker and cheaper for you as well.

I looked around for a North American e-retailer who carried both the feeler gauge and 1/64" ruler and couldn't find a single one. Plenty who carry one or the other and ship internationally ( where are you anyway?), but not both. For someone buying them for you from a brick and mortar store, the feeler gauge wouldn't be hard to find in a automotive/hardware store, but the 1/64" precision ruler would take some running around.

Note: The ruler's extreme edge must start at 0 because you will be using it as a depth gauge. Some rulers (although perhaps not metal ones) leave a small gap at the edges before beginning their markings, so this is something to watch out for.

i was hoping someone would grab those from a local shop and ship them to me.

I have already done that with the metric system but i prefer to have an imperial ruler much better! It would be nice i guess.

Nope, the business is one of the premier shop tool companies...you can look at: www.Starrett.com...

I was looking - looks like you want #C604R-6 rule ($13.78USD), and #66 feeler gauges ($36.00USD), plus shipping, insurance, etc. Right?

Say the word, and they will be on the way.

Regards,

Guy

Yeah, a set of feeler gauges from an auto parts store cost me about $9-$12 or so, IIRC. A 6 inch steel ruler is $2.11

Or 12" for $2.79

That's where I'll get them from - Quill.

Let me know Marios and I can get the stuff for you and send it to you. I will be placing an order with Quill in the next few days for general office supplies and can add this on. I use their 12" metal rulers now, very nice. It is ruled on 1/16 increments for most of the area but 1/32 on the first and last inches, cork backed.

The "factory measurement" is just a guidline anyway. If you're just learning you might want it to be lower, and once you get good you will need the action higher than that. Remember to readjust the saddles to fix the intonation when you're done.

When you start to get better the action will need to be fairly high and you will probably want to find some very thick picks (at least 1.0mm proabably closer to 2.0mm). Seems kind of counter-intuitive, but thats how you play fast/hard/under control.

you are almost right about it. I still trust numbers better though. Once you find which action you like you match it to the appropriate feeler and blindly set it to there every next time.

I have never set up my guitar before. I have a chromatic tuner for the intonations.

Now I play mostly rock music. And a high action is not really what i am after. I dont want the ridiculously low action that will kill my sustain either. I currently use 0,9 picks (tortex have a nice grip). I think they are ok for .10 strings. For .11s or 12s to which i may move on a few months later i might use a 1.2mm pick or s/thing.

Just let me know what you want. Give me the catalog numbers so I know the exact items - as you see, the catalog is bigger than huge.
