I have the HD598 and both the Fiio E7/E9 combo and the Ibasso D6. No question the E9 has the most power and is a true bargain-and it is a great match for the 598. I also use the E/9 to power my desktop speakers via the RCA output. The Ibasso D6 has greater detail and 24 bit capability and it is portable (and outperforms the E7 alone as a portable amp). You have to weigh the advantages of each, but I find myself using the D6 a lot more with the HD598. I bet you're really confused now...

I was in your position about two weeks ago and went with the iBasso D6 strictly because it was small and i can take it with me on the road as a DAC/AMP.

its been an awesome set up for me. Reading your original post Ibasso D6 seems perfect, but if you want just the amp.. i'd go with the status quo right now and that's the FiiO e11.
