I must apologize

Lou,
Nice of you to do this Lou. I'm sure everything will resolve in a good way. I still recommend you to get the HF-1 fix.

Don't let one mishap be the ultimate deciding factor. Let cooler heads prevail, give it some thought, wait for Todd to return and take it from there. Again, my apologies for the misfortune.

See, I told you Lou would post comments 6 seconds after he got his HF-1!

Can't blame him though, I would have been rather upset as well. Not at John or Todd, but at the hype on this board that generated a general climate of overhype and overanticipation. A nice gesture from John and Todd to bring head-fi'ers a unique modification of an SR225 turned into multiple threads of "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! NEW HF-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!! LAST DAY TO BUY IS SOON UPON US!!!! ORDER NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

No wonder so many fell under the spell and everything became larger than life. Poor Lou has several headphones for which to listen to music with but because of all this hype, they became meaningless and we had to have the HF-1 yesterday.

I ordered mine online last Saturday. Haven't heard anything yet. But I haven't started going nuts. Maybe tomorrow.

Poor Lou? I didn't realize that headfi had to tell us which headphones are worthwhile and which are meaningless. I must be way behind the times with my unhyped HD-650.

i think you mistook which one of you two had an attitude problem.

it's good you've calmed down. it's a shame you're going for a refund rather than a repair. getting your unit repaired by the owner of the company would be just the same as getting one brand new

i know how much it sucks to have to wait on an eagerly bought product, but that's life. it 's no help getting all angry about it

for the love u have towards grados
what he said to you would hurt u bad...

and for us,
its like losing a cheerLEADER... in a way...

I just think that
if John posts or leaves msg on this matter,
he would eventually make more fans, perhaps, including Lou

Someone needs to track those cans. They will officially be known as something like "Lou's Cans" or something. Once they're repaired, they'll fetch a premium price as a hallmark of this now infamous occasion.

Got an idea: I'll offer $250.00 and send em back to Lou. Maybe he'll have a change of heart after some cooling off time.

I hate to see this happen to ya Lou. You've got my respects, bro for the apology.

Perhaps, but it's with an on-again-off-again girl friend that he's gotten back together with several times for short periods... So after a while it has to stop hurting, right?

these things do happen, but I probably would have felt the same way as Lou considering the HF-1 is a special limited edition released for customer appreciation.

you'd think Grado might have taken extra care with these limited edition headphones, and also offer better than normal customer service and satisfaction.

it would have made the most sense for Grado to send a new pair using the fastest shipping method possible, and pay for the return shipping of the broken pair. they then could've fixed the broken HF-1 and re-sell them after testing.

personally, the reported blemishes from everyone and this incident has made me choose not to purchase the HF-1 nor support any Grado products.

such products should be an example of the finest product quality and customer care that a company can offer, not just another way of making money. I get the impression that Grado feels they're doing us a favor by offering the HF-1.

Guvnor, the problem was that Lou didn't want a new pair, since that new pair wouldn't be the same # as his (a low number). John offered Lou the option of sending it back to Todd for a refund, or sending it to John for repair - i think that covers all the bases, no? Again, this isn't a case of what's right or wrong - rationally what could be offered was offered, and this was a case of heightened emotions, which Lou apologized for on his side, which was a classy thing to do.
