I'm glad they still work. You might want to try changing the filters to see if that restores the midrange.

Yeah, and sealing them in a container with a desiccant (like the little packets that come in pill bottles and tennis shoe boxes) should help suck any remaining moisture out of them. Long live balanced armatures!

That's hard to know, and I would venture a guess that Etymotic Research overlooked the effects of rinse and spin cycles on audio reproduction

What I would definitely recommend is leaving them [size=x-large]OFF[/size] until they're completely dry. Of course the tips and filters should be removed during the dehydration process.

With or without fabric softener?

Hasn't he said he uses fabric softener in order to reduce microphonics ?
