Has anyone here played Age of Conan?

I tried it last year and I thought it was pretty good, although a bit buggy.

Aion looks nice but graphics count for very little imo.

The people who played on the Korean/Chinese beta state that the gameplay is better, if not as good as World Of Warcraft

Yup. Bought the CE on release day last year. Played for 4 months then quit. Buggy, no DX10 even though advertised on gamebox, meaningless item stats, drab looking gear, unpolished game content once outside Tortage (LV 20+), nerfed adult content, and an aloof attitude from Funcom made for a less-than-average gaming experience.

However, I have been periodically visiting the AoC forums and it seems things are improving. Hell, DX10 is finally being offered a mere year later than promised. I may pick it up again for a whirl once I lose interest in LotRO (somewhat awesome, btw).

I renewed my AoC sub three days ago and made a conquerer. He's already lvl 26.

This game is a lot better than it was last year. It's much more polished and is running smooth and clean. What ticks me off the most is how cheaply you can by the collectors ed. on eBay now

This is my first foray into a mmorpg so my experience is limited, but I've been gaming on a PC for about as long as their have been PC games and I'm loving AoC. Any WoW players looking for something fresh should give it a go.
