The 440's offer a little more room for your ears whereas the M50's are a bit more "cramped." Though they are still comfortable.

The 440's are straight up bigger. The M50's have are smaller and lighter, probably better for portability.

As far as sound quality goes, both sound great, though the M50's offer (what I perceive as) richer bass. Both sound crisp though.

If you think they sound good now, you are in for a treat! The M50s really open up after about 100 hours of burn-in- tighter bass and very nice highs. Congrats on your purchase.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Just got my pair today, and damn these things are sweet. Even out of my laptop headphone jack the quality is superb. Plus, my Zune 8 drives these things better than both my TriPorts and my ER-6...
