After hours and hours of listening session+ burnin periods..
near 2 months and no more less 700 hours, sound is GREAT :
Open, detail and warm.
I haven't heard so clean treeble before and bass are deep.
Sound is better than in a live concert.
I listen essentially Jazz and classical and i think it's the perfect headphone for this kind of music.

You have to try them with an "real" amp, however I am not sure about yours of course, but if it is only Hornet, well, you didnt heard them yet as they can sound, imo.
And yes, they are the best JAZZ/CLASSICAL hp I have heard so far. But TRANCE and CLUB music are great to.

Congrats!

Blackmore, i'm sure you have right.
I have use it with :
integrated amplifier Yamaha
Grado RA1
Hornet ( my better amp at this day )
and i ll receipt the predator ( my next amp).
The better sound for the moment is with this small Hornet.
If i could, i'll purchase the raptor.
Could you preconise some (budget)amps wich are abble to put the GS 1000 on the moon ?
Thank you for your advises.

Nota :
i was very deasapointed with RA1.
Nothing extraordinary.
look beautiful , that's all.

If I were you I would just wait until you get your Predator, but here is the one that doesnt cost a fortune which surprised me when I heard it.

does the SQ justify the 1K$ price?

Heterodoxical is it may sound, I'd venture this: If all you have is an iPod and $1,000 to burn, and you want the best sound possible, bypass the amps and the mid-range headphones and go straight for the GS1k's. Yes, they can make even an unamped iPod sound like a home system. And you can always get an amp later. Or a nice home system, for that matter.

Blackmore, have you try GS1000 with Predator ?
Thank you for your advise concerning HPA4S (i'll keep the information on mind).

No, I didnt, but from what I can read up here, Predator is one of the best portable around, so I expect you may like it. One thing to concider, he must be burned for like 500+ hours at least.Let us know, o.k.

Thats no problem, you are welcome.

Yes, i think it'll be great with Predator.
I have my own burn'in installation to send the predator on the moon.
(listen music /wave or pink signal noise /sweep frequency + an adapted load on the headphone plug )
It'll take time.
I think first results could be obtain with 150 hours, but for a mature sound it'll take bw 700 & 1000 hours on it.
