I don't understand Grados... can someone explain it me?

I stand corrected. Grados do the midrange right. And most music sounds lie in the midrange. The bass is tight - but it will never be anywhere near car-subwoofer-boomy. Their only major fault is that their lower treble response can be a bit rough (hence the 'Grato' nickname).

Muffled bass from grados?!?!? An outrage!
And a grado from the bottom of the hierarchy? There's no bass to muffle!

the sr60 can sound great, but you need to mod them. One simple mod is to remove the SR60 chips. The second mod is to replace the grills with fine metal mosquito nets. The bass is greatly improved. Part of the fun of listening to headphones is to mod headphones DYI. I have modded every IEM and headphone I use, basically customized to the sound I like.
