I have a Stax maniac
I have a sr 009 a sr 007 mki and yesterday I bought a two new pairs of stax sr 4070...in a oficial stax distribuitor.The last ones..

I had a lot of luck to find then..

I have an amp stax srm 717 and i m very happy with it..but i think that the new sr 4070 need more power...

My answer is...could be better a KGHHSV for the closed stax???

yes, thank you for the clarification. Personally if you are interested in closed back earphones, I think better can be had for less Stax money? Maybe a planar? But in any event the OP might like to read it if he hasn’t, especially when the author had good results with pairing of the 717.

Can you tell me why your interest in a closed backed Stax ear speaker? Full disclosure I have a L700/007tII set up and the open baffle is not to be messed up, it’s perfect as is!

I’m curious which do you like better, your 009 or 007? And if the 007, what are you driving that beast with, as it’s pretty difficult to drive?
