I'm wondering if I could install Qobuz for streaming music. It depends on Android 4.0.3.

It doesn't work... it's not going to use its internal DAC when playing from a third party app.

I think that it is valid to say that it may not leverage all the features and tunings implemented in the branded software, but I think it should work.

correct.  It 'works' but it's nowhere near as good. YMMV

Do you mean that Qobuz would work at 44.1kHz, whereas DX100 is capable of much higher sampling rates?

android cannot play higher than 44.1, also other software does not take advantage of the Sabre's feature set like the inbuilt software.  I've tried lots of Android players (Neutron, Poweramp etc) none of them sound as good as the inbuilt player.  Please give it a shot though, it might be good enough.
 
I use Tidal, but with nmy android phone and a seperate DAC (iFi i-DSD) and I'm very happy with that.  I use the DX100 only for hi-rez and FLACs from the inbuilt storage.

It is true for Android 2.3 which Dx100 is based on, but not for Android in general.

not sure about later versons, but Gingerbread (2.3) didnt support it.

I found that lower volume is better when i use hdp r10's line out. The higher the volume of the player, the worse the sound will be. At full volume, it doesnt even sound as good as the dx90. Is it normal?

Hi, I tried to follow your instructions but cannot make them work. I press volume up, then press reset while keeping volume up pressed, then connect DX100 to the USB cable. It just turns on normally. The PC doesn't ask for any driver. Also tried to connect the USB cable first, then press volume up + reset. Then DX100 just shuts down. I have firmware 1.4.2.
 
Any ideas?
