I have always used the gain on low and about 170 to 190 orso . After reading in this post I now increased the gain to high and lowered the volume . I am not sure but I think it does sound better with the gain turned up .
Anyone have any thoughts on this. .?

Yes, it's better overall. The soundstage, bass, and extension are better. The high impedance phone really need to use high gain option. My volume is around 175-180.

recently there is a new released android dap, NW Z1 from Sony. Has anyone here got a chance to compare it with HDP R10?

Guys, do you usually turn off the R10? Or let it in standby? I let mine this afternoon in standby and it went from 55% to 0 in 8 hours. Seems that the standby process is not turning the amp off and it drains the battery rapidly.

I turn mine off when done
I have removed the headphone and hoped it went into
And auto off like my ak 120 did. But it does not
So turn off as soon as done.

What firmware do you have? Have you added any additional apps to the player through google play?

I was turning mine off then re-starting every time I went to use it. As of last week, I have been putting it on standby, by pausing the music. My battery drain has been barely noticeable from one day to the next.

The Fitear 334 has a magical symbiotic relationship with the R10, simply wonderful and a joy to listen to.

I have the 8.0.3. No extra apps installed. Usually it went ok, this is the first time that the battery drops suddenly. I'll turn it off from now on.

Hello, could anyone here help me out? i just recently received my player but it seems the music in my microSD aren't listed. Tried to access the internal and external, i could see the song files; however, all of them have the play time of "0:00" which is strange, tried to play but doesn't work. Then i updated the firmware to 9.03 but the problem is still there, it seems i can't play anything at all even i have move all the files into internal memory , the "Music" folder...

Did you move the files from the memory card to the player?
It could be your memory card.
The card has to be re-formatted before using in the player, to fat32.

The music does not go in the music folder it goes in the main directory. Of each drive

The ext has to be fat 32. But you need to put music on drives when connected to the CPU

Also look up the dx100 thread for info.
I know when I got the unit it did not go where I thought it should

i think i have found the problem, the microsd 64 i'm using was being used before with Studio V. I have tried to transfer music to the internal storage. While the card is inserted, the music list disappeared even all the files were on internal storage. When ejected, the list came back visible. The mem is formatted to fat32 as it was used with Studio V which required the same format. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes two things format the card again write to card else where
Format again. Try again if not buy another card
Something happens to the card and it affects things.

Thanks Al , sorry for late reply. I have been messing around with my player for a while. After some tune-up, setting up, it seems to run faster now. The thing i could notice is the firmware change from 9.03 to 8.03. The 8.03 with Googleplay..etc removal definitely improves the performance. If anyone really wants to install app later on, it would be a bother using 8.03. My advice is download an apk installer in 9.03 then downgrade to 8.03 and i'm happy to live with it now. The tune-up apps i got from Googleplay also does the job well, it cleans up cache and unimportant files.
