I think you should have someone build a B22 for you- they're supposed to be the end-all, be-all of amplifiers at the moment.

OT: If you are blind, how do you read Head-Fi? Speaking technology, or do you have someone read it to you?

Hi everyone, I have not been on head-fi much lately because (believe it or not) I have been VERY satisfied with my current home setup, i know folks were skeptical but I can honestly say that I dont feel an immediate driving need anymore to upgrade any of my components as I did in the past. I now have the hd800 plus the meier symphony and I am very much satisfied, also today my primare poweramp was returned to me so I can again listen to my speakers as well.
I live in a small room and my speakers are fed from a poweramp only and since I dont want to buy a separate preamp a headphoneamp/preamp combo is the logical choice. Also, i do listen to music ONLY via my computer so the built-in dac is very nice too since an external dac would only take up extra space and I really like the wolfson dacs.
I am also at the moment quite happy with my small portable setup which consists of the ie8 and sansa clip, i am planning to try one of the all-in-one player solutions that come on the market now (amp3 or hifiman) but certainly not at this moment, i am content to wait till the products are a bit more developed.
I might still go balanced with the hd800 but I am not at all sure about it and I certainly wont do it in the coming months.
I am also done with portable amps, i still have to sell my ibasso d10 (i have found a buyer for it, bonthouse but I have to receive payment from him) i will just use my mp3-player when I am not at home.
so after at least 2 years of feverish buying and selling (no audio store nearby) i have finally found something to hold onto.
Sure, i could have made different choices and i think if i would have bought studio monitors instead of my current poweramp/speakers that might have been more practica lbut, since these headphoneamp/preamps often dont have a lineoutput i still think I have made the right chocie at least where my speakers are concerned.
And dont forget, the journey, research and experience it brings you is half the fun of the end result.
Greetings, Anouk,

Congratulations Anouk! I'm happy for you.

Not sure I would go so far as to say I have my final home setup, but I'm pretty much there for the moment ... until I listen to the HD800, PS1000, ED8 & etc ...

Don't forget to share some of that hard won knowledge with others here who are learning.

buying the best of the best now means no upgrades for a very, very long time! or, until something dethrones it!

lol

My dynamic rig is done, I just got the Balanced Blue Dragon cable for my HD800s and I couldn't be happier.
Here's the gear chain: Audio-Note CDT-Zero -> HGA Silver Cable (I know but it's spare) -> Audio-GD DAC Ref1 -> ACSS Cable -> Audio-GD Phoenix -> Balanced Blue Dragon Cable -> Sennheiser HD800.

I still don't know whether I'm going to keep my Aristaeus or not.

Hi, I dont think I will ever get the lavry, to be quite honest I have heard some rather bad things about it and probbably no opportunity to demo it. Anyway, as I said I am quite content with my home rig at the moment, except for my speakers which I cant control that wellw ith my preamp (i could with the previous ones). But I am happy I can listen to my speakers again (my poweramp was gone for repairs for quite a long time). My portable rig, now thats another matter. I am happy with my ie8 and clip, thats for sure but there is room for improvement htere (especially if you consider isolation) luckily the market for hifi mp3-players is ehating up with new players like amp3 and hifiman (I am not considering the sony x1000 because its inaccessible to me).
But I will take my time (for once) before I consider updating my portable rig, i will at least wait till january next year.
Greetings, Anouk,
