Only when I am perfectly happy with the pre-production prototype, and Chord are happy to launch it too. It's a major project - easily the most complex design I have ever done by a huge margin in terms of PCB design and FPGA coding. Six months ago, my son Daniel, out of the blue said it was sonically the most important thing I have ever done, so I think it will turn out to be very much worth the wait.
Congrats to estimated a year of listening to your new scaler 😊 we cant wait to lay our ears on it too :)

Has anybody tried 2 BixPower batteries for the MScaler at once...with a Y cable, to prolong the battery life?

That seem to demand some wiring .... which I do not know to manage!

I bet Ghent Audio could make you a cable like that if you explain carefully what you want to do. https://ghentaudio.com/.

I just ordered a pair of DC power cables from Ghent to connect to the unregulated Port II of the Bixpower BP-90. One end will have a 3.5mm x 1.3mm for the tiny port on the Bix, and the other a 5.5mm x 2.1mm connector (for Audiowise OPTO-DX units). I‘ve used their DC cables in the past and always liked them.

I used cables from Ghent that were very good, but I would not want to undo the benefits of the battery...I will ise just one and be thankful for that!

And thanks for the info about the plug type on the BP90. I ordered one and could not find any info on that.

About MScaler and Roon: I noticed I could change the Roon DSP settings so that Roon would send DSD files directly to MScaler without converting them to FLAC. I assumed HMS would do a better conversion than Roon. And the HMS source light changed to white when I opened a DSD recording.

The problem was that all music, DSD and FLAC, then sounded thin. But when I switched back so that Roon sent 192/24 files to MScaler, sound quality was restored.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a faulty setting in my system, or something affecting everyone? If the latter, is there an explanation?
