That is what I was trying to point out: Not oscillating does not mean more stable, it can be the opposite.
Even assuming perfect (no error) multimeter, it still needs to round or truncate the value to the available decimal places.
So again the same examples I gave:
1. PSU 1 real analog value oscillates between 15.134 and 15.136 (a 0.02 delta). The minimum will round to 15.13 and the maximum will round to 15.14, so your multimeter will oscillate between those two values.
2. PSU 2 real analog value oscillates between 15.196 and 15.204 (a 0.08 delta). Both the minimum and maximum will round to 15.20, so the multimeter will display a steady 15.20 value.

So you see how PSU 2 that oscillates 4x more, show a steady digital value,
while PSU1 which oscillates 4 times less does display oscillating digital value.

Ah rb, thanks for that very interesting info...one learns something new all the time in this hobby of ours lol! But as we're still assuming just what might be going on re. min and max values/truncating, I suppose the whole thing is rather academic lol . And whatever, those readings would seem to indicate nothing much to worry about anyway...especially as both PSs do the job without any obvious detrimental effects :relaxed:.

I don't have a HMS - yet... :) - but this audiophile has a high-end setup and uses a Cambridge Audio CXC CD transport:

Which can be modded:

Very interesting video THGM...thanks. And for me personally, as I daren't open up my Naim Uniticore server/player with its own internal CD drive that copies to its SSD drive - and a tremendous job it makes of it! - to see what's what, I liked his finishing remarks re. digital cable...ie. a lower capacitance being preferable, and vindicating the results I mentioned previously concerning my unorthodox alternative to conventional coax cables...:).

Just watched a new video of Terry from Pursuitperfectsystem discussing power supplies as some on here are considering a sean jacobs to power HMS it may be worth a watch first where he mentions the 200 watt £300 jcat in comparison.
