Consider that the ones at the bottom will have to bear the weight of both components
juansan, I scored a solidsteel audio gear rack today that should make my life a whole lot more organized. At least I hope so.

Redflamingolingo, I’m so happy that the time you’ve spent figuring things out has been fruitful. Thanks for putting in the long hours because I’ve enjoyed following your journey. Now you’ll need to get yourself some really good BNC cables. And I can’t begin to tell you how much better the M Scaler sounds when connected to a good linear power supply either. 😀

When you say really good BNC cables, can I get by with a set for under $500?

Any recommendations for a good linear PSU?

Redflamingolingo, of course you can “get by” with BNC cables that cost less then $500. That’s why I’m presently using a pair of Moon Audio Silver Dragon 🐉 form-fit BNC’s that sound very good and work really well. And it’s also why I’m waiting on a pair of WAVE STORM BNC’s from Nick Bacon at WAVE High Fidelity that cost five times as much. 😊 https://www.wavehighfidelity.com/storm-1/wave-storm-bnc-cable For a good linear power supply I’m using an Sbooster, with one connected to my HMS and one for the TT2. https://upscaleaudio.com/products/sbooster-botw-p-p-mkii-power-supply?variant=22207470436412 But I think you’d really appreciate the Sean Jacobs DC4 PSU because it’s arguably the best you can get. https://www.hifiwigwam.com/forum/topic/141102-sean-jacobs-dc4-lps-powering-my-dave-and-mscaler/

Bet the wife is going to love that 😜
juansan, my wife says she loves me no matter what, and I’m gonna go with it. 😊 She didn’t make out too bad yesterday either because I bought an 11” iPad Pro for her and our daughter.

How much of a real difference do the Storm BNC cables make? All I see are some testimonials and not many actual reviews.

$2k for a set of cables is ridiculous, no?

I mean where do we draw the line? 😆

You draw the line wherever you want. I don't like lines - lines are for squares dude. 🤣

I hate to say it, but the WAVE Storm dual BNC do make a difference and they are very high quality. They are not a necessity but they make difference. Whether it's worth it or not - only you can decide.

On a scale of 1 to 10 what colour would you rate them? 😳🤣

I will not comment on what the Storm cables bring in terms of performance, as I haven't heard them. I understand even Rob Watts uses them.

But to your use of "ridiculous". That was my impression too and why I did not go in that direction on principle. Apparently the components/materials to make the cables are about 100-150 GBP (please someone correct me if this is incorrect) and the build time is quite short.

Talking of BNC cables with ferrites is it correct that the ferrites themselves need to be demagnetised occasionally? (Like the old cassette deck heads). I’m pretty sure I read about this somewhere, probably on this or one of the others chord threads.

That is incorrect (besides the fact that materials cost is not all that goes into developing and producing a product).

The connectors (particularly Oyaide) are not cheap, high-grade silver cable, etc.

Nobody is forced to buy anything (except by Governments of course, but they have not got involved in HiFi cables yet).

I think the lowest end Wave cables are in that range, and there has been very positive feedback on them.

I own the middle tier (solid copper, around $1k) and they are absolute magic.

Get in touch with @Triode User and he can give you a ton of feedback based on what you are looking to achieve.

Just to try a different direction than the Wave cables, I purchased 2 ten packs of these https://palomar-engineers.com/ferri...-Range-200-2000-MHz-Bulk-Pack-of-10-p90491417 and placed them my BNC cables (Blue Jeans), USB cable, and power cables from the Chord switching supplies to the devices (TT2 and Mscaler). Seemed to magnify the effects of the Mscaler enough that I don't feel like the $100 was a waste. The Wave cables could be better but I'm not motivated to go that far. I'm aware others state the snap on ferrites don't provide the same results as the rings. Disclaimer - none of my actions were double blind study tested, I'm willing to accept placebo effect can take place, and your results may vary.
