I don't have the Chord ensemble stand for DAVE but wonder if the stand can be set up to slide the M Scaler under the DAVE?

According to the measurements the stand for the DAVE will straddle the HMS, but only if you get one the medium or tall leg ones as there’s no room underneath with the short stand.

Next in my list is searching out headphones that have the kind of lift I experienced with single driver high efficiency speakers

I'm looking forward to hearing about your search. Headphones are next on my list if any can lift what I'm hearing from the HD800.

Yep, my cables do not like being touched while in use, even gently.

These look like decent cables:

or these

http://www.bluejeanscable.co.uk/store/digital-audio/index.htm

so I think I shall go for one of them, or something similar. £50 or so a pair is reasonable. It may well be the case though that the connection inside the cable is fine, it’s the touching of the BNC connectors that upsets the data flow for some reason so a fancier cable might dislike being touched just as much.

I am currently listening the the M Scaler with the Blue Jeans Cable BNC and no drop outs at all.

Could someone confirm the slight movement i'm getting on the main rings of the stock bnc connectors has affected others here or is it just me or is normal? Until someone can check this i won't know if there is a fault or not on my stock cables. thanks mk.

Are these affordable amphenol cables okay to try: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Amphenol-RF/095-850-187M100?qs=/ha2pyFaduiXRb9hzG6iBGf6tnSHuI3dOO6Z/c2LWR9ZlU94Pzq3oWribfc7Jma4hJFTC4rtS/E=
Not quite sure what you mean by movement on the main rings of a BNC. All BNC connectors have sprung movement, that's how they work. I had two sets of stock cables from Chord for my HMS. The first set was so tight they didn't fit either the HMS or my DAVE. The second set, one cable was fine but the other still very tight. Personally I would ditch the stock cables altogether.

What for though? :)

Digital cables all sound so different......

I am trying the WAVE Stream cables at the moment. Very good. All the granularity and harshness just disappears.

Good to know. I'm going to visit them next month to try the Wave Stream.
