When I had the TT2 and MScaler, I generally set the TT2 to standby overnight, from standby I could discern no difference in SQ as the unit warmed up. The MScaler is always left powered on.

I now have the DAVE connected to the MScaler, I rarely set the DAVE to standby because I think it does take a while to sound it's best if it's been in standby mode for any length of time,. Of course I do turn everything off if I'm not going to be around for more than a day of so..

When you turn it back on from standby, it says 'CHG', and it takes 15 - 20 seconds before it goes through the rest of its start-up routine. Manual says 'CHG' means 'Hugo TT 2 is charging the super-capacitors'

No, I leave it plugged in ... power cord plugged into surge protector plugged into wall, and power cable inserted into back of TT2. I just use the front panel button or remote to turn it on/standby.
Thanks for the clarification. You would think I would know that after years of ownership. That being said, I leave mine fully on. I feel that switching electronics on and off is the most stressful on the components. ymmv of course

Has anyone experienced the HMS only gives max upscaled output 705/768 and no output signal to the TT2 when pressing the SR button (both remote and ball) to try lower sampling rates, seems it only works on max, no light or sound on the TT2 when anything but the max SR selected...?

I am using an Araulic Aries G1 in non upsampling mode via USB and DBNC from HMS to TT2.....am I missing something or is my HMS faulty?

Maybe tt2 is input selected on bnc2 while lower sampling rates are send over bnc1? Or visa verse idk.
Fact is tt2 can be input selected and has to match the hms output, this can be misaligned.
It is set on DBNC and I get msuic playing at this setting and it shows its highest sample rate but if I toggle the HMS with SR button no sound nor signal comes into the TT2, light is off except if on highest SR.....

Try swap your coax cables on one side

On lower SR setting only HMS output 1 has a signal

This is what I was trying to convey. Widell must have his/her tt2 set to bnc2 as an input when hms is in lower SR.
Thank you both for your advice, will do this test and check tomorrow and report back, thanks for the assistance....

Further to my last and above, now works as advertised on coax1 setting and not on coax2(only with max SR 705/768)) many thanks Meriodian7 and Reactcore for your guidance, you were correct, and I feel stupid now for not realizing, must criticize the manual for not being crystal clear on this...but now happy to know the fault was with me and not the HMS....

Can the MScaler drive DAVE/Hugo2 via optical? Or do you need to use the dual BNCs?
It can be used with optical output, but if you want full benefit of max upsampling you have to use double BNC.
