Just ordered the bixpower. Will test the unregulated output once I get it. On the side note, a ifi DC ipurifier is also on its way. Hoping, it can tame the switchimg noise from Krisdonia. Maxoak is good, but it is too big to fly.

Only question left now is your preferred music ?Yep true and fair enough re the m scalar. Learning to appreciate wine, coffee, art, Japanese ceramics… whatever it is, involves a path of self education. Audio is the same of course. However, from all the many many reviews I read and watched, the impression given is you’ll hear a significant difference, night and day… now given reviewers are using often loan review machines, borrowing over the weekend from their employer shop… that strongly suggests that’s all fakery if it really does only reveal itself to the brain over many days of listening. I’m looking forward to see if I can hear any difference in 10 days time. It’s just a very expensive Let’s see.
And also the source, streaming, local files, CD etc ?

Oh a wide mixture of world, ecm jazz, to some electronic. No metal or such like though. So what attracted me was the supposed instrument separation etc. first listen of the m scalar was such a disappointment that I’ve yet to go back and try. Will do tonight, having left it running for 48hrs. I’m hoping that might have a bearing on the interconnects. . Qobuz streams and and local files.Only question left now is your preferred music ?

Just stay in “enjoy” mode and listen through some favourites uninterrupted instead of critical listening or “review” mode ..,
PS. Mine stay on 24/7, MScaler goes into power saving mode when not in use …

Hi Rob (@Rob Watts),
I recently purchased a Mscaler. It is an amazing unit! It transformed my Hugo2 into a smooth, detail, and analog-like sounding machine. I cannot live without it.
Over the weekend, I fiddled with an idea -- does Mscaler sound different with different power banks? I then compared Krisdonia's 9v to 12v, and to MaxOak's 12v. Like you and other users in this forum, I like Krisdonia's 9v better 12v. Then, I compared Krisdonia's 9v to Maxoak's 12v. To my surprise, Maxoak is even warmer, smoother and it has better depth. I remembered you said Mscaler regulates the 9-15v input into 5v with RF filter. I do not understand why. Each component in my system is battery-powered. Using a different battery for Msclaer should not affect the sound, but it does.
Do you know why? I found one of your posts saying Krisdonia could be the issue.
Do you have a chance to look into it? Could it be the Krisdonia's DC-DC conversion caused the differences? If so, would it be better to have an unregulated output from a power bank and let Mscaler does all the regulation?
Found a powerbank that has an unregulated 9v-12.6v output. I may give it a try.
https://www.bixpower.com/product-p/bat-bp90-12v.htm
"Output II has a nominal voltage of 10.8V (Range from 9V ~ 12.6V). This port's power comes directly from battery cells without voltage regulation. When the battery is fully charged, its voltage is 12.6V. Output voltage will then decrease gradually. Most of the time, the output voltage will be around 10V ~ 11V ( nominal voltage is 10.8V). When the voltage drops to 9V, the port will shut off and stop providing power. This port can be used to power portable DVD players and digital photo frames."
Thanks in advance.

Cheers, I will look in to that later, as my TT2 has been broke for the last 4-5 months, it just sits in a corner along with my mscaler. I’m gunna have to send it away to get fixed for the 3rd or 4th time. It does bug me, but hey ho, schit happens.
Maybe it was caused by me having it on 24/7 when I say on, I mean in standby mode. Never turned off at the mains or unplugged. I now use my mojo & poly now and I kick myself for selling my Hugo 2, I loved that thing, too big to carry around, but thats what mojo was for, Hugo 2 could of been my desktop backup.
My dealer is coming up to pick it up from me at some point, so fingers crossed I get a quick turn around.
Thanks for the link.

Yeah, it does bug me, but I’m past letting it get to me. I was gunna ship it to Chord myself, but royal mail would only insure it for £2500, and thats £2250 short of the price to buy a new one. Plus the weight of it, that schit alone was enough to bankrupt me, so I asked my dealer if he could come pick it up and that I would give him £100 for doing it and to cover any shipping costs and maybe there is enough to get him a drink when its done. I can’t say enough about him, he is a great guy.
Hi Rob (@Rob Watts),
Received my Bixpower today. The label shows 100wh capacity. It is okay to fly.
The battery is charging now. Will test it tomorrow.

Guys, have another question. I am looking into getting another couple of power supplies for the TT2 and M Scalar in order to be able to use them across the living room and home office. I just want to unplug cables out the back and pick up the boxes, drop down, plug back in and carry on working without scrambling under desks etc. No need for LPS or such like. I understand they are both 15v - but the various buying options on amazon suggest a screw up is possible, either in amperage or adapter size.
Has anyone done this, bought a second brick and cable set? if so any tips are welcome.
thanks
Tim

Convince me audio's review of the M-scaler
I’m new here so risking offending people. On the previous page I said I’m getting little out of a new m scalar and so I’m doing as suggested , stopped a/b ing, leaving it ten days, it will soak in etc. and I’m still on that path. but here is another BS review saying it’s an instant, instant game changer, can’t live without it. These fake incentivised reviews are doing the industry a lot of damage in the long run. It’s just confirming the snake oillery that audio skeptics hold.
