I have a pair of Atrio M5s with a worn wire. The attached photo shows where the wire has worn just where it enters the "memory plastic". As of last week, I'm not getting any sound on that side.

I've been very happy with these IEMs since I purchased them over two years ago. They are out of warranty, but FutureSonics has offered to send me a replacement pair for $100 if I'll send the old pair back in. Before I do that, I thought I'd ask . . . how does one get something like this repaired? I wouldn't have a clue where to look locally. Assuming I can find someone, how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks,
Lee

The housing will needed to be cracked open (and very likely putting ding on it) in order to replace the cable. You will probably need to a decent cable from another earphone and someone to solder the cable for you. If I am in your position, I'll take FutureSonics's offer. You are not only getting a new Atrio for $100, but a rev.2 model that is said to be slightly better than the old version.
