Unfortunately one of the cups detached from my Denon AH-D5000 yesterday and what seems to have happened is that the screw (7-4) no longer attaches to the Biss2 (7-3), definitely seems like some worn-out screw threads are involved. I'm not entirely sure which threads are broken but from the little I can see I'm fearing that the Biss2 is affected :frowning2: .

Not sure how I should proceed, from what I can see the Biss2 seems to be out of stock everywhere and I'm a bit hesitant to go all epoxy over this...

Anyone have any tips or guidance? Would be eternally in your debt!

The Biss2 is nowhere to be found. I've been searching for months... Be careful with yours!

Yea, seems like I'm pretty out of luck on that front. Given that the situation looks the way it does though, what would be the least destructive workaround? I'm considering using some metal epoxy to bind the screw shut, but is there any other alternative? Someplace that can rethread something that small etc...

I am thinking that the epoxy is a good solution. Unless you take it to a Denon service center and try to talk directly with the repair guys. They may have a solution for you. Or maybe a Biss2 laying around.

Good luck!

FYI: Just got an email back from Parts@dmh-global.com.  This is what I got:
7-3: 9H3419100380D  -  no longer available & no substitute
7-4: 9H3509500170D  -  -  no longer available & no substitute
7-5: 9H3521500140D  -   $0.69  in stock
7-6: 9H3472100200D  -  .69  in stock
7-7: 9H3521500150D   -  .69  in stock
7-8: 9H3522500050D     .79  in stock
7-9: 9H3419100390D  -   -  no longer available & no substitute

I am in need of the 7-9 (nut cap) for sure.  I would like to replace my 7-4 (screw) because I think mine broke and is a little short.

So, if anyone has a 7-9 I would love to snag it off of you.  And if you have the other bits and you don't need them, I'll take them off your hands!

Anyone have a spare 7-3 BISS2 and 7-4 Screw or know where to find them? Looks like there hasn't been an update in a while. I didn't know this was an issue with them until it just now happened to me :frowning2:. If not, anyone wanting to purchase a Denon AH-D7000 off of me. They are my favorite pair of headphones which is going to make it hard to let go.

Hello everyone !

I actually created my profile today in order to give you an update on how to possibly solve this issue that sill persists in 2020 !
If some of you still experience the same problem with screws braking/cups detaching from the top structure and if you can't find any reseller that still has this special "BISS2 screw", you might be interesting in reading the solution I tried today and that ended up working pretty good. It mostly could help those of you working in metrics and living in Europe, I'd say. So basically, what you need to buy (per cup) is :

1x M3x 20mm Flathead Screw
1x M3 Security Nut
2x M3 Washers (metal or plastic)

You will have to dismantle the first part of the cup in order to get the 20mm screw through the hole. It is important to buy flathead screws, otherwise it won't work ! You then add a washer/top headphone structure/washer and finally the security nut.

Hope this will help anyone still looking for a solution
Cheers !
